Yes, there was a time when I was a small child, before I was miserly, that I did go to church with my mother and sister. I am familiar with the history and the significance of this very week. Some time after the visitations with the Spirits, I finally picked a Bible up for the first time in many years. I remember weeping reading about Jesus’ terrible death on the Cross. I finally mustered up the courage to go back to church and confess my sins, all by the end of Holy Week. My mother often told me when I was growing up that the Easter lilies grew while Jesus prayed and wept in the Garden of Gethsemane before Judas betrayed him, and the lilies grew again at Golgotha while He was dying on the Cross. It was said that the Easter lilies symbolize purity since Jesus came without sin, and hope since He rose from the dead. Yes, those lilies are my favorite flowers.
