Madison couldn't comprehend. Maisie, the girl he always loved just admitted she liked him. And now she's mad about it. He didn't understand but he could feel why. His heart was pumping like crazy, his head racing with things he needed to tell her.
"Because-" she kept interrupting. The pain in her eyes broke him. The fact that he was causing this pain wasn't right. This entire situation wasn't right. But if this isn't the chance he was waiting for his entire life he didn't know what else was. "Because, I didn't know how to tell you, Maisie" he said louder then he intented. "Maisie, I-" he bit his lip, what to say, what to say.
He looked at her again. "Because you're one of the few people who I really, genuinenly care about, because-" his adrenaline stopped his words. He wanted to say so many things to her, wanting to convince her that it's not to late. Hoping that it wasn't, hoping that she felt exactly same as him. "I'm sorry, I just never told you because I didn't want to scare you off, because I-" he rambled. He felt the emotions coming over him, remembering all the times he thought he could confess to her, all the times she ran off with someone else. "I didn't want to lose one of my best friends just because I love you" he blurted out.
The words slipped out before he knew it. He didn't know if he should feel relieved or start worrying. The word was out. Fuck, what did he do...
@maybexmaisie
With a confused look in his eyes he stared at Laurent. What the heck did he drink to get this messy... Madison wanted to take a step back, slowly walking away from the drunk man in front of him. However he completely froze in anxiety and shock when he felt Laurent holding on tightly to his body. He wanted to slap him right off but he was taking in the fact that Laurent was actually hugging him.
"Eh-Laurent" he awkardly stuttered. He felt his head turning, his hair tickling his cheek. Madison's eyes widened when Laurent starting whispering in his ear, not knowing if that because of his romantic confessions or the vodka smell. Oh my god, was Laurent gay? And then why was he flirting with Madison? Madison wasn't into men. He convinced himself that Laurent was just saying this because he was drunk. Madison felt Laurent's breath getting closer to his ear, as he entire body got a shiver. This must be fate.
"Okay-okay-OKAY" he said while trying to push Laurent of as gently as possible, afraid he'd fall and break his neck. He awkwardly stared at the drunk mess he was trying to push off. "T-That's very nice of you but ehh I-". Madison didn't really know what to say, afraid Laurent would make a snowdoll out of him.

Madison squinted his eyes to get a better idea of the form on the roof. Out of reflex he placed a step forward when he fell face-first in the snow. He look around him, fuck he was alone. Just his luck, a stranger probably breaking some kind of bone just because he wanted to speak up. What to do, what to do, what to do...
Right when he opened his mouth, wanting to ask him if he was okay, he started talking about Madison's penis. He could feel his cheeks turning red, why would he say that? He looked away, this was- unnecessary. The fact that he felt uncomfortable by his presence just increased when he started calling him Madam.
"It's Madison" he said slightly annoyed, awkwardly standing in front of him not knowing if he should just leave. He probably should. "Did- did the fall hurt?" he tried to ask, probably getting a weird answer back.
@laurent-vasiliyev
Fuck you, Santa
Laurent hates Christmas. The festive season is always too loud, the bright fairy lights and glittering ornaments strung up on every corner of the building giving him headaches and putting him a perpetual bad mood. As with most things he has few fond memories of Christmases spent with his family, and more of endless dark and cold nights during which heâd been kept awake by late night shoppers or self-fancied carollers taking to the streets.Â
While he tries to stay secluded in his room as often as possible, Fairfield makes it nigh impossible to ignore the excited buzz preceding the holidays. Heâs lost track of how many classes heâs skipped after catching a teacher walk around in a tacky jumper or horrific costume, the Christmas songs howling away over the radio enough to make him consider mass murder.Â
When Christmas day does arrive, and the rest of the students staying in Scotland engage in a pointless ceremony of giving and receiving gifts, Laurent steals a bottle of Vodka from a teacherâs office and ventures to the roof. Tucked between the slope of the building and one of the chimneys, his stare is brazen while he looks out across the bustling courtyard, cigarette in hand.
 Halfway through the bottle he begins to entertain the idea of pelting the students building snowmen with snowballs. Three quarters through he starts chucking, his aim thoroughly messed up by the alcohol in his system.Â
Carefully walking through the crispy snow, Madison was walking with a cheerful step towards his dormroom. Christmas break was almost here, which ment seeing his dog and family again. Even though Madison didn't really have money to buy great gifts, he always got a bit excited when he saw his mother placed presents under the christmas tree.
And even though Madison was feeling a bit more confident than usual, his steps were unsure. The snow was crispy but very slippery. So when his headphones bumped off because of a snowball hitting his head, he couldn't help to lose balance for a second. While trying to stand steady he looked around, seeing an unknown guy lookig quite guilty.
"H-hey" he started unstable, hoping he couldn't hear him. "That was my head!" he yellled awkwardly at the stranger, as if he threw the snowball by accident.

He sat up a bit when she admitted she wasn't okay. They knew each other so long, he knew when something was off. He smiled at her, hearing her chuckle. Called it.
However, that smile completely faded when she started speaking. Is this going where he thought this was going? Oh my god, it was. He kept nodding as she spoke, trying to comprehend everything she was saying while still trying to breathe. Madison tried to connect the dots in his head, but he couldn't believe what he heard. And even though his heart ached when she mentioned Felix, she came back to talk about him. He was in shock. He expected that she'd talk about her sister, Jonah or school. Madison thought he was going to throw up, so much butterflies and adrenaline he felt.
Madison didn't dare to hope that what he was thinking was true, but when she said that she had him his eyes immediately went to her face. This couldn't be true, right? He looked into her beautiful blue eyes, realising that she was almost crying. Realising that she was hurting. He opened his mouth, wanting to comfort her, wanting to wipe away the tears in her eyes, but he couldn't. He felt completely fucking paralyzed.
He looked at her sad eyes again, in confusion and shock. I thought you didn't like me like that. His head was hurting. "I..." he started, almost whispering. It's now or never, he figured. "I've always thought-"
He took a deep breathe. "I've always liked you" he admitted in a soft tone. "Maisie, I don't know how to tell you this but I-" he looked at her face. He could feel his face getting bright red, but he couldn't stop talking. "I always thought you liked me as just your friend, I-" he looked at her. Trying his best not to look away. "I really, really like you and I-I never told because..." He was speechless. All his reasons to not tell her seemed silly. He was absolutely speechless.
@maybexmaisie
He nodded as she spoke, ignoring the butterflies he felt as her thumb was on his skin. Moments like these were so pure, so natural.
He looked at her eyes, when she snapped a bit. He knew he shouldnât have said anything about Jonah. âNo, itâs okay- I mean, youâre rightâ he said quickly, analyzing her face. Her tone took him by suprise. âI mean, what do I know about the guy?â he said with a chuckle, hoping sheâd forgive her.
âMaisie, I know I-â he hesitated. Maybe he was pushing her buttons again by asking her this? But then again, maybe something was wrong. âIs everything okay? You seem a bit, stressedâ he said with a bit of worry in his voice. With caring eyes he looked at her face, hoping sheâd be okay with him asking. He wanted to place his hand on her arm as well, or on her leg. But he didnât dare, again, afraid sheâd get the wrong idea or that sheâd be freaked out.
@maybexmaisie
Jonah was a Southern man. If heâd learned anything from his father - it meant he didnât apologize in a traditional way. He just tried to smooth shit over and never mention what had happened. âOh Maisie sent it to me awhile ago. She wanted us to chill or whatever,â He responded. âI swear I didnât stalk you or anything.â like Madison had stalked him.
@madisonxheart
He rubbed Bingo's head, staring in front of him. Madison was feeling anxious, knowing that that text would start a fight. And he wasn't even in the mood for a fight, not that he ever was.
Surprisingly he heard a ping. Maisie wanted us to chill. Why didn't that comfort him? For a second he looked at the text, not knowing what to say.
So, you like games? He looked at the text he just send, wondering why the hell he'd ask him that. He wiggled his leg, waiting for a response.

Jonah: I forgot how boring home was. Apparently adults don't get Christmas breaks from work so half the time it's just me home alone lol
Jonah: #onlychildproblems
Jonah: so anyway
Jonah: amuse me.
Madison was laying on the couch, bored as hell. The sun was set low already, and time couldn't go by any slower. Bingo brought his ball back to Madison, again. For Madison, Bingo was one of the few girls he loved coming home to. She was always happy to see him, listened to him and never got bored of him. And apart from that, Bingo was a very nice Golden Retriever his parents had since he was ten.
He heard his phone buzz. He quickly threw the ball so he could grab his phone without Bingo seeing. He frowned, what the f-
Was this Jonah's way of apologizing? How did he get his number? Madison looked at the text again, it was such a casual text.
Well, same goes for me. How did you get my number? He texted, looking at his response wondering if he should text back at all. Lost in thought he completely jumped up when he felt a very enthusiastic Bingo her wet nose under his hand. "Bingo, no!". He accidentally pressed send. Madison looked at the dog. Sighing.

The whole walk back to the room, Felixâs mind was racing with what Madison had to show him. Sure they were roommates, but things had definitely been a little awkward and Felix didnât think they were close enough to share things as important as what it seemed Madison had to tell him. âHey,â Felix replied, closing the door behind him he moved to sit on his own bed across from Madison. âWhatâs up?â he asked easily.Â
While playing with the phone in his hand, he looked around. Looking for a place to focus on. Should he be freaking out? I mean, it was just a text? âOkay, so. Nothingâs wrongâ he said with a nervous chuckle. Felix and he were always awkward. Madison loved Maisie, he used to love Maisie. Felix is cool, got his shit together and is a football player. Madison is- well, the opposite. And even though they were roommates, Madison always felt a bit uncomfortable around him. So when he impulsively decided that telling him about the text was a good idea, he kind of freaked out.
âI-â he stared at his shoes. He sighed, here we go. âYouâll probably think that Iâm a weirdo-if you donât already doâ he mumbled. He looked at Felix. âI got a text from E, and itâs about youâ he told him bluntly. Madison handed him the phone, awaiting looking at his face.

maybexmaisie:
Maisie never let her hair down. Her blonde ponytail was her signature thing. There was something about having her hair out of her face that made it easy to concentrate. But the way her hair bounced on the top of her head also cheered her up (not that she needed cheering up most of the time, that usually came naturally). But without her hair in a ponytail, she also felt vulnerable. Which was why Madison and Harlow were the only people in the school to see her with her hair long. Running her fingers through her hair nervously, the blonde let out a shaky laugh. âYeah, maybe.â There had been a lot of maybes in her life recently.
Entering the room further, Maisie carefully took a seat at the end of his bed, her hands folded neatly in her lap. âFrustratedâŚover Jonah?â She asked softly, leaning forward in concern. âI really like him, Mads. I was hoping you would, too.â She spoke slowly, almost as if she wasnât sure that she was saying the right thing. As he asked her a question in return, Maisie shook her head before nodding. âNo thereâs noâI mean yeah, Iâm good. Nothingâs wrong, Iâm good.â She fumbled over her words, curling up on the end of his bed as she spoke, turning to face him. âI just want to make sure youâre okay.âÂ
Madison folded on leg over the other as he got comfortable. âOkayâ he said, not quite believing her. âIf you say soâ he said with a chuckle and a kind smile. Awkwardly he played with the laces of his shoes. He felt the urgency in her voice as she told him she liked him. It made him feel a bit uncomfortable, he didnât want to disappoint her, or maybe it was something else. âWell, itâs not that I hate him or whatever, I mean-â he casually started telling her, still playing with his shoelaces. âItâs just- he seems a bit like a weirdo, a bit cold, you know what I mean?â he chatted along, ending with an awkward smile. God, maybe he shouldnât bother her with this. I mean if heâs a friend of Maisieâs... He didnât want to insult her. Madison looked at his shoelaces and realized he untied them completely, sighing a bit. âBut yeah-donât worry about it, I mean, heâs probably a fun guy, I guessâ he lied. âAnd apart from that Iâm fineâ he told her, as he looked at her face. Madison wondered what was on her mind. Did Jonah tell her about the confrontation they had?Â
maybexmaisie:
Maybe all along Maisie knew itâhell, she probably did know it. How old was she when they metâfive? Six? Or was it before that? She honestly couldnât remember how long it was. But she could remember the fuzzy warm feeling sheâd felt on her tenth birthday when she opened the present from him. She could remember the butterflies in her stomach that she always seemed to getâand maybe that was what love felt like. Maybe sheâd been in love with Madison this entire time; it just wasnât until she spoke with Mara that she realized that heâd had his eyes set on her. Except now, at seventeen years old, it felt like it was too late.
It made her angry. Angry that sheâd been so oblivious. Angry that he hadnât said anything to her⌠angry that she was so, so confused. Because maybe, maybe in the past, she would have said yes. Maybe they could have been thisâŚpower couple wasnât the right word. But they could have been somethingânow that they were older and more people had come into her life, more opportunities and more feelings, that something had turned to almost nothing. A close friendship, yes. But after speaking with Mara, a part of her heart had shattered.
Maybe it was foolish of her to think Madison would bring it up on his own. Maybe she needed to bring it up first. And so when heâd shot her a text about meeting up, all she could think was how she needed to tell him. The thing was, she didnât even know what to say. Lightly kicking the door open with her foot, she smiled as she walked into the room. âHey stranger.â Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, she looked around the room curiously before turning her gaze on him. âClass was great, Iâm pretty sure I passed math with a decent grade.â By decent, she meant in the 90 percentiles. âWhat about you, whatâs up? Whatâd you want to talk about?â She thought about asking how his class was, but curiosity was eating her alive.
He smiled back at her. âKnowing you, you probably nailed itâ he said with a bit of a tease. She wore her hair down, which Madison liked. She didnât do it often, but it always framed her face nicely. He walked over to his bed, looking around for the stuff he wanted to show her but he instantly forgot by her question. She sounded nervous. âWell, nothing in particular, just felt a bit frustrated over that new guy, but thatâs allâ he chuckled a bit, looking at her soft face. Madison wondered what was on her mind. Maisie wasnât always in a good mood, or sometimes had worries on her mind, but she genuinely seemed nervous this time. âYou good?â he casually asked.
Oh.
heartsaflutter:
âThese are for you.â She states again with a smile. âYouâre Haleâs chem partner, right?â Face falling at the potential realization she shuts her eyes. âOr have I been looking for the wrong person?â If sheâd been wrong this would not only have wasted both of their times, but she would be obligated to leave the snacks and go make another batch to track the right person down with. ââŚIâve been looking for the wrong person havenât I?â Opening her eyes she shakes her head. Even if she was wrong that just meant she got to talk to someone sheâd never spoken to before, which was always a good thing. Taking a deep breath she looks at him with a light laugh. âIâm sorry this is awkward. I uhm, normally just talk to my few friends and even then things get awkward.â She was rambling and she knew she was but at this point, there was no stopping it. âWhich really sucks because nobody likes to be the one to make things awkward. And Iâm just making things worse the more I talk so I should probably shut up right about now.â Giving a half wave she lets a small laugh out. âIâm Mara.â Rubbing the back of her neck she musters an awkward smile. âYouâre also friends with Maisie right? Iâm just trying to make sure I have the right person.â
Madison wanted to interrupt her, as his face turned bright cherry-red, but she kept talking. He chuckled with her as she mentioned she should shut up, not that he didnât like her talking, but it was good to see that he wasnât the only one who was uncomfortable. A big smile appeared upon his face, realizing he had no clue how to react. âHey Maraâ he replied awkwardly. For a second he looked at her face, realizing he was staring. âEh-I-eh... Sorry-Yes, Iâm friends with Maisie, and I think you do have the right person, I guessâ he said with a chuckle. He looked again at the baked goods, and back at the girl. âThanksâ he said a bit overwhelmed, smiling at her. âItâs- Wow, thank you so much, I just wasnât expecting someone to hand me pokĂŠmon cupcakes...â he said while getting distracted by the fact that she indeed put all the Eevee-lutions on them. âOh wow, you even got one from the sixth generationâ he mumbled in awe. This girl genuinely put time and energy to not only bake cupcakes, not only to make them PokĂŠmon-cupcakes but to make the Eevee-lutions look exactly like Eevee-lutions. He chuckled again, what the fuck. He looked at Maraâs face again. He never really expected someone to do something kind for him, let alone give him a present. Let alone getting a present from a really pretty girl. Madison was completely flabbergasted.Â
For a few seconds he stared at him. He really wanted him to act now. While repressing the urge the curse at him or to sigh, he nodded at him and turned around. The pace of his steps was high, afraid that if he'd walk any slower the man would go running after him.
Madison never met a teacher like this before. Sure their were teacher who were harsh, but this man genuinenly seemed mean. Most teacher seemed to be annoyed by Madison, which didn't bother him. But this was different.
While quickly grabbing the mob in the janitor's office, he walked back to the puddle of coffee. Feeling kind of suprised the teacher was still standing there. "Got the mob" he awkwardly stated, waving the mob around in his hands. This was ridiculous.
@viktor-vaschchenko
Madison: Yeah, jonah. My place is cool, c u there x
Madison quickly pushed some boxes to the side, looking around if there was any more mess he wanted to clean up. To give Maisie the idea that he's been active he threw the curtains open. After looking around for a few seconds, he walked towards the mirror.
Maisie and Madison have been friends since their early childhood, one way or another she was always there. Their mothers went to brunches together, and their sister called each other sometimes. And even though it only felt natural to hang out with Maisie, he was always a bit nervous before she came over. In his head he'd always plan how he would tell her that Madison liked her. Knowing he didn't have the guts.
Madison sighed and rinsed some water of his hands. With his thoughts somewhere else he ran with his hand through his curly hair. Out of concentration he bit his lip. One way or another it never worked the way he wanted to. And he refused to put on his beanie this time.
Quickly he looked over as heard a door opening. "Oh, hey" he said kindly, a smile appearing on his face. "How was your class?"

viktor-vaschchenko:
âAre you really going to make me repeat myself, boy?â His supposed friendliness as a normal member of staff forgotten the moment Mason spoke back, Viktor mirrored the studentâs actions, taking a step forwards while Mason took one back. He was almost sure heâd misheard; He certainly wasnât used to disobedience from his subordinates.Â
âI donât care about your assignments. You make a mess on the floor, you clean it up. Is that going to be a problem with your busy schedule? Maybe a trip to the Headmistress will change your mind. Itâs your choice. Basement at 5pm, or suspension for disrespecting and assaulting a member of staff. Tick tock.â
The adrenaline rushed through his body, trouble-alert. âTick nope-I mean no, sir-I mean, the basement is fine, sirâ he blurted out with a bit of panic. That was a weird sentence. He tried to stand at the same place as steady as he could, but he couldnât help but wiggle one step back. Madison didnât know if he was supposed to clean up the mess he made right now or just stand and wait for orders. He didnât know why (well he could think of a few reasons), but this teacher seemed more intimidating than other teachers.Â
Pascal was exhausted. With the horrific memories of the gruesome events of the Halloween event still fresh on his mind, he could slowly but surely feel himself crumble under the pressure, his resolve cracking. He hadnât spoken to Paige in days and the pain of not knowing how his sister was getting on was worse than any physical pain he could have endured.
Sleep turned into a myth, the heavy rings under his eyes a testament to his distress. Heâd spent most of the Christmas days locked in his room, trying to get back into the routine of studying and training. But he hadnât visited the gym in weeks, and his grades steadily continued to fail, dropping so low several teachers had taken him to the side in concern.
With nothing left to tether him to the world he floated through his days, dissociating and lost in thought more often than not.
With his eyes fixed to the ground and all of his usual self-assured spark gone, Pascal didnât realise he was about to walk into someone before it became too late - the gym bag in his hand dropping to the floor as he stumbled backwards and into a locker.
âAh-shit. Watch it!â
With his eyes pointed towards his DS, he mindlessly walked in the hallways. Trying to get his mind off the fight with Jonah he had earlier this afternoon. Madison wasnât used to get any kind of confrontation, so he was pretty happily occupied with his game, ignoring the anxiety he was feeling. With the cheerful tune in his ears he walked further through the hallways. With his backpack wiggling on his back, he didnât even notice he bumped into the stranger, making his DS clatter right into the floor.
âI am so-so sorry, I-â he looked to the ground, his DS laying there, awkwardly playing the happy tune. He realized that it wasnât the coolest music playing loud through the hallways. He looked back at him again.Â
