You Can Make The Difference

I’ve burned three batches of cookies today. I’m just really glad it’s the weekend. 

Did any of the cookies survive...? You know maybe I should bake the next batch, or at least help you out? I don’t mind, plus it might be fun to make a day of it!

“The glee club for Dalton Academy, a school that burned down before I was born.”

“Oh! I think I’ve heard about that - it was some private guys school right? From what I have heard their choir was actually pretty good, your Dad was one of them?”

yknow for living on the west coast almost my whole life, coming to land locked state… I’m missing the ocean so much.please tell me there is something  fun to do around here that isn’t watching paint dry or grass grow.

Honestly, that would depend on what you consider fun really. Although I am also fairly sure that not a lot of people would prefer watching paint dry OR grass grow as ‘fun’ - so I think you’ll be able to find something to do.

“He was a warbler, the craziest of crazy.”

“I hope this isn’t a bad question but - what IS a warbler exactly?”

“Yeah, he loved it. He loves watching all those old videos.”

“You’re a good son. Was your dad one of those ones that did some of those crazy performances as a teen? I’ve heard some stories about some of those things happening - still not sure just how much of it was truth to be honest.”

“The recycling guys? they’ll drive by your house once a week, you’ll see them forever. Yeah, mine is only a couple months old, made it so much easier, he can’t move without me.”

“Oh gosh, you’re right about that. Let us hope that they will forgive me for the excess boxes they had to remove. Oh wow, I remember when my little boy was still that young - now he’s on his own two feet it is hard to keep him in one place these days.”

Yeah i don’t think my dads will trust me with fire

Probably a good thing to be concerned about, but no one said that Smores were for just a single person - I believe they are better with others.

Well, there is marshmallow stuck on the top of the heating element so…yeah it didn’t survive.

Yeah.. that is definitely a bad sign. I'd suggest that the next time you want smores to simply do them outside - perhaps a little safer for all appliances.

“Yeah, they definitely do but it’s worth it. And they’ll get over it.”

“I suppose I should just bask in my relief for now, that the unpacking part is finally done - moving is extremely exhausting particularly with a toddler in tow - and hey, it's highly doubtful I will see those guys ever again too.”

note to self, don’t try and make smores in an air fryer…i owe my dads a new air fryer now

I’m not the best chef or anything myself, I’ve had my fair share of ruined appliances myself, but never with an air fryer. Should I ask about the condition of it? Did it not survive the Smores?

Ricky couldn’t help but smile softly there. The kid was pretty cute, made him kind of want one of his own. Kind of. “That is pretty adorable.” He admitted, looking back over to the girl. “I think that is how it usually happens with kids though.”

If there was one thing in this world that Madelyn loved to talk about, it was most certainly her son, “I might be a little biased but.. most of what he does is pretty adorable.” Maddy gave a little grin before looking back at him with a little nod, “From what I have learnt, it's proven to be often true - he gets more entertainment with boxes and random objects..”

“It really is the best feeling. Watching the recycling truck drive away filled with boxes is just… chefs kiss.”

“It’s such a relief! Just that one last step closer to being fully settled into my new place - although I am pretty sure the recycling truck drivers might hate me for just how many boxes I have for them to take away..” 

Ricky smiled at her. “I agree with that one. Now if only I can get out of my dad’s place and be done with moving once and for all.” He replied. “I’m guessing your kid is the one who did that? At least they are having fun.”

“It’s truly such a relief to be settled in finally,” she gives a small laugh, nodding as she speaks, “Yeah that’s my son, at least he is having fun - although I swear he’s having more fun with the box than his toys, which I spent ages making sure they were unpacked before almost anything else.”
