Thank you all for following me and your interest in my artwork! Best wishes for a great 2016! See ya next year!
My artwork for the Post it 11 show! I’m delighted to be 1 of 450 artists included in the show at Giant Robot Gallery in LA this December. Fun to just draw with pencils and no digital tools for a change. Definitely a small homage to Edward Gorey in there.
I loved getting to be a part of Light Grey Art Lab’s COSMOS exhibition! I created an illustrated based on the constellation Caelum, the latin word for “chisel.” I am delighted to say my design was chosen to be the Death card in the LGAL Tarot deck! http://lightgreyartlab.com/cosmos/

Really excited to share the journals I illustrated, designed, and hand lettered for Anthropologie! They are available in stores and online now: http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/37151529.jsp#/ There are 3 designs that feature flora, fauna, and a hand lettered phrase. They also have lovely little illustrations on the inside pages as well!

My illustration for Light Grey Art Lab's new show Cosmos! This is my interpretation of the constellation, "Caelum," latin for chisel. It also serves as the Death card in LGAL's Tarot deck!

Meet Lisa Perrin, one of the many artists featured in the upcoming Cosmos show! Lisa earned her MFA in Illustration Practice at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Her work is informed by Eastern European Jewish folk tales, beautifully detailed Victorian designs, as well as nature in its many forms. She now resides in Cleveland, OH where she works as an illustrator for American Greetings card company. If you want to see more of her Perrin’s work be sure to check out her website www.madebyperrin.com or blog made-by-perrin.tumblr.com, and don’t forget to check out her Caelum piece in the Cosmos show, opening October 30th!
For the COSMOS Tarot & Oracle Deck, Lisa illustrated a piece for the constellation Caelum. In the deck, it represents the Death Card and is an Earth Element.
Caelum Tool of Creation - Refinement - Configuration
The constellation Caelum was said to have been named both for the celestial figures carved into marble vessels and for the sculptor’s chisel. In Masonic lore, the chisel symbolizes the tool of transformation: when used by the skilled hands of sculptors and craftsmen, it brings forth elegant forms from rough hewn stone. The Caelum card depicts the dual nature of the tool and its creation, where each chip that defines the form detracts from what it once was. Caelum symbolizes the departure of something that was in order to make room for what will be.
Upright, this card symbolizes the progress to attain one’s goal, possibly by using a helper or outside resource, or the tools necessary to do so. With proper tools, a person can create a masterpiece. Properly and consistently applied resources allow for patient, considered and deliberate progress. This is a card of creativity, refinement, transformation, and configuration.
Reversed, Caelum represents a divisive force, literally reshaping or wearing away important aspects of an established configuration. The action taken may be to deliberately deface or obscure. A heavy-handed move has the potential to lay waste to any progress made before it.
