If we ever get a new update for MHS3 I hope it's a Simon side story taking place post game (even if I gotta battle Aenshin at level 100 or some shit) where the crystallisis is starting to take over after ten years and he's starting to grow weak and the heir says fuck this I ain't losing you again and its all about them looking for and eventually finding a cure. & after that is when Simon will FINALLY become a permanent ally once again

Hear me out: post story, Simon’s going to be pretty anxious about the Heir’s safety even with the better relationship with Vermeil. He’s got no reason to trust Vermeil, even with Eleanor in the mix. Eleanor is great, he fully believes she won’t let anything happen. But it’s things happening behind her back that concern him. After all that’s happened, especially when he finds out how many assassins Gaul had to fight off to protect the Heir, there’s always going to be that small part of him that worries Fiero (and Clarissa even with Eleanor’s intervention) may still have contracts they conveniently forgot to cancel. He got Clarissa’s direct word that nothing would happen to the heir, and where did that land them both?Â
Especially if he’s romantically involved with the Heir, then his anxieties are far more aggressive. He takes his love’s safety very seriously and he know’s all eyes are on him. If anything happens, because of his ties to the Heir, the blame will be on him. And he’s one of them.
I also imagine there's more than a few people who aren't pleased with how things turned out with Aenshin and its calf.
How many Vermeilians were affected or lost to crystallisis?
I'm not sure if he's still alive or not, but you think Fiero is really just gonna let things go?
Exactly! Fiero is willing to do anything to better Vermeil’s situation, including brazen regicide and coercion, and since he’s the leader of espionage and likely did encourage Clarissa’s more ruthless and desperate side, he’s exactly the type of person to conveniently forget to call off an assassin or two. He cares a great deal about both country and his personal ambitions. He fully believes his actions—no matter how cruel —are justified in stopping the suffering of his people. He did what he thought was necessary and now he’s cursed to die from the same consuming disease he used to coerce Simon. He gives the vibes that he’s not exactly going to take that with remorse. With his political ties he’d find the exact people that share his sentiment to get revenge for him and cover up his involvement.
(Lowkey wanted to make investigating an assassination attempt on the princess a part of Simon’s atonement process in the eyes of the kingdom in a fanfic while mhs3 brainworm infests)

typically my art is posted my Instagram (madamesphinx) but like 3 ppl care about MHS3 there so some Wisteria doodles ft her monsties and Simon. Those two are so down bad for each other it’s embarrassing like get a life u two good heavens.

Wisteria and Simon started courting 2 years prior to the events in game, something the Royal Court doesn’t know and Simon never told his contacts in Vermeil because “well they don’t need to know, right? Nah there’s no politics involved, we’re just best friends. That happen to kiss and hold hands and yearn to have babies and grow old together. Yeah they don’t need to know that.” Wonder how that went over. Wisteria is overall kind and even-tempered, but has a horrible habit bottling up her emotions. Simon was really the only person she felt she could fully express her frustrations to as a person, not a princess. (Rudy tends to take the blame for her troubles and she doesn’t want the cat to have more anxiety than necessary.) You can imagine the journey after Simon’s death is the worst couple months of her entire life. She and Simon hatched Wisteria’s Pukei Pukei, Spits, a descendant of her ancestor’s and like two minutes outta the shell, that bag of feathers tried to eat the only boots Simon owned. Spits is Ratha’s annoying little brother but is very loved. Wisteria later bonds with Lord, her purple Royal Ludroth, Valka the Velkhana, Canyne named Blitz, Dive the very rude Seregios that bit Gaul like 8 times fresh out the egg, and Bubble Lotus the Mizutsune that fills Lord’s spot.
Lord didn’t survive the second battle with Aenshin. She’s literally having the worst time of her life, she’s like one bad day away from having a breakdown. First your boyfriend dies, then he’s not dead, just a spy, and your big sponge-sea lion lizard gets blown up by a whale, your dead mom isn’t dead and just has amnesia and never remembers you, your distant but still very much loved dad gets radiation poisoning and it turns out your spy boyfriend is also dying.

I figured they didn't bother putting him in there. Maybe that was the case prior to the update, but he's there now.

Okay okay okay I am sure I will have more to say on this later but for now
I've seen many a post yelling about how Simon backpedalled immediately once Ratha V regained clarity and YES this is very extremely important to me oh wet cardboard box man who didn't even have an answer to "If it wasn't real, then why tell me about the Sacrosanctum" because it was the realest ever and he's trying so hard to be hardened but he's gonna crack in 5 minutes because he misses his ex and wants the wedding to be back on BUT.
I haven't seen anyone talk about how they attempt to save EACH OTHER in that sequence. When Ratha's Crazy Shockwave Beam Attack knocks Ratha V prone midair, the FIRST thing the heir does is dive after Simon (FOR THE SECOND TIME) despite the fact that he was on the other end of the trigger this time. Even now they BOTH still care and they're BOTH still equals. This is such an important part of their relationship to me, I don't think you can talk about Simon's devotion without talking about the heir's. Every time he's hurt, they immediately go after him to make sure he'll be okay, even if he's on the opposing side. And in this particular instance, he JUST revealed to them that he's alive and working with Vermeil. Despite the pain and anger and confusion they're feeling, despite the fact that he actually just instigated a fight with them, they still just want him to be okay.
They are SICKENING. They make me NAUSEOUS. I LOVE THEM.
