Second year
The narrator is Scottish, but he doesnât mind if youâre not.
Second year was wild, we had a box that we stabbed, five of us in a flat stabbed or beat up a cardboard box when we got mad, Rob was upset because his dad committed suicide when he was a teenager, and because his girlfriend was abusive. Conorâs dad also died but that was a long time ago, he had bad self esteem because of the fact he was a virgin. I was upset because I was studying international relations and was having panic attacks and nightmares about WW3. Jonny had full blown depression and was in an LDR, he cheated on his girlfriend and spent all day playing guitar as a result of his chronic depression.
And Andy? Andy keeps his real name because he was a fucking psychopath. He got hooked on Valium he stole off his Mum and signed up as a drug dealer after the last guy became paranoid schizophrenic. He was shit though and the supplier came round every week to get his money off him. He bumped into a rival dealer whilst on mushrooms once, and would forget what day and week it was because of his Valium. The guys beat him up in his room after he went on a rampage in the flat, while down he tried to swallow a box of pills but couldnât chew fast enough to end his life. We caught him and flushed his stashes, his mate came round one day so he stole Robâs money. He was the only person in his subject to get an A because he had a photographic memory and looked at the textbook the night before. His Mum called us and we got him into therapy and back to her, and years later he convinced her we were the bad influence giving him loads of drugs. Rob worked his arse off getting Andy to therapy and getting the head of law to not kick him off his course. Andy didnât remember any of this due to that Valium haze and convinced himself that Rob had ratted him out to his Mum and was the person who had fucked his life over. Years later the grudge would culminate in Andy fucking Robâs younger sister. And we had this cardboard box in the hall that we stabbed when we got mad. Â
