This is my first icon I have created for my DES311 Creative Entrepreneurship. I have decided to create 10-15 Batman related characters, as I am quite the fanatic. I created this icon from scratch in Adobe Illustrator.

My third task for DES310 was to start thinking about the design aspect to my marked up webpages. Above I have created a digital moodboard for my Heroes & Villians Project

Part of my third task, was to create a style tile for both webpages I have made. This style tile is my favourite as I enjoy reading comics. As soon as I heard the title of this project, I immediately thought of my favourite comic book heroes

The final part of my third task was to create a style tile for my other webpage, “Finding an Extinct New Zealand Bird”. I used a wildlife style approach with the colours and the fonts.

For my typography task, I had to recreate a quote that has been made with a certain typography. I browsed for ages until I found the right one I would like to create. I decided to go with this quote by Joe Sparano. Click the link to see my creation

While viewing other websites, I noticed a great and cool function that was quite accessible. This is Smooth Scroll.

I used Smooth scroll on my Takahe website as I thought it would add a nice touch to it.

I also created a ‘back to top’ button in Illustrator (with functioning smooth scroll) to bring the user back to the top of the page with ease.

This website had to be responsive, I found it quite difficult to get it all right and laid out properly for my mobile view.

This was my original idea on how my responsive webpage and navigation would function.

I tested a ‘hamburger’ responsive nav on my Heroes and Villains webpage.

For my Takahe website, I went through many ideas and designs in my head and on paper. I was considering different elements, such as whether or not to have a fixed navigation bar, or just 6 links on the top of my webpage.

I finally decided to have a header image webpage with no navigation bar (just animated links). As you can see above, in this design I had originally had a fixed nav bar, but then changed this during the designing process.

Above I have also attached a screenshot of my final webpage header and nav

Quite like this bit of typography, not just the humour of it. I would love to recreate the design of it, with the rusty look and the borders. I took this at Catalyst Art Gallery in Belfast
