in ‘the creation of adam’, Man lies back indolently, reaching out idly in response to the forwards-thrusting touch of divinity, well within reach but lacking the drive to take it, representing the naive state of original mankind, unburdened by consciousness or desire.
In this fascinating modern take, however, the artist instead shows Man as a driving force, frantically throwing aside all barriers and restrictions in pursuit of his goal: a goal which remains impossible to reach. Fast food, representing compromise for survival in the face of an uncaring and overstressing world, hangs awkwardly in the center of an uncrossable abyss. Note the use of highly-rendered tensed musculature to imply physical effort, emphasized by the contrast with loose, hanging fabric, and also the lack of effort on the part of the employee: She is trying, and were she reach out just a little further, then through their collaboration would Man attain his goal. But, the strictures of her position allow only a certain amount of human generosity and kindness. The structures we build as humanity prevent us from doing all that we can to help one another, and this remains true even when presented with a fellow human willing risk death, to survive.

you know what’s a trope that never gets tired is when theyre bouncing around in the plot and suddenly an important name crops up- it’s blorbo bleebus. and some dude is like who the hell is blorbo bleebus. and we immediately cut to our new friend blorbo bleebus pulling the most absolutely buckwild shit you’ve ever seen
enhanced edition of this trope is when they cut to blorbo bleebus doing something entirely contradictory to how they were just introduced, like "i know a professional, someone discreet who can handle things quietly" cut to blorbo bleebus in the wildest fucking bar brawl you've ever seen, screaming their own name and stopping to down shots while still holding some dude in a headlock

once i was at the philly museum of art and a security guard saw me looking at this sculpture that is just a head of romaine lettuce tied to a block of granite with a piece of wire (sculpture that eats by giovanni anselmo) and he was like. i’m here sometimes when the lettuce guy comes in to change the lettuce.
I’ve just been struck by a sudden and powerful longing for that specific feeling you get when you’re drifting off to sleep and you hear a loon calling in the distance.

please read this story of a man accidentally discovering his wife is the world's best Tetris player
[image description: an excerpt of text that says:
“It’s funny,” I told Flewin. “We have an old Nintendo Game Boy floating around the house, and Tetris is the only game we own. My wife will sometimes dig it out to play on airplanes and long car rides. She’s weirdly good at it. She can get 500 or 600 lines, no problem.”
What Flewin said next I will never forget.
“Oh, my!”
/end id]
TL;DR on the article
The husband was writing an article on classic video game records, was surprised to find out that holding the Tetris record is a bit of a big deal, and mentions how good his wife is at it.
The guy he’s talking to mentions that the record is 327, way lower than his wifes usual scores of 500-600.
They travel to a tournament, and she goes to do her attempt. Just after she beats 327, and is climbing higher, a judge brings up to the husband that the specific version she’s playing actually has a different record of 545.
She overhears that she needs to beat 500-something, and keeps going, setting the record at 841.

I’m always interested in playing different people, in different situations. It doesn’t matter to me whether someone is in love with a man or a woman. I find the idea of love and romance interesting. I’m a sucker for it. I like playing someone who’s falling in love because I like the sensation of it. People do extraordinary things when they’re falling in love.
