I’ve run out of poetic ways to tell everyone I’m really fucking sad

I’m that person everyone replaces after a while.

I tried to find it in bottles and pills. I tried to find it in the arms of strangers. I tried to find it in the laughter of friends. I’ve tried running and I’ve tried staying. The truth is - there is nowhere to go and no one to help. There is just me - and there is something terrifyingly wrong with me.

I spent two years telling myself that I was getting better, but now I’m realising that I’m not better. And I don’t think, I can handle this by myself anymore.

If you know someone who’s depressed, please resolve never to ask them why. Depression isn’t a straightforward response to a bad situation; depression just is, like the weather. It’s hard to be a friend to someone who’s depressed but it is one of the kindest noblest and best things you will ever do.
