Those movies you watch as a child and grow up to see a deep meaning it…watching the Labyrinth growing up, it was always a collage of this amazing, beautiful, entrancing world waiting to be explored. So much for your eyes to gaze upon and really take in. The songs were so fun to dance and sing along with my cousins and aunt. But now I realize there’s hidden messages. Sarah has to defeat her inner conflict and become a better person, defeat her flaws, defeat what’s standing in the way of her happiness and of course the baby LOL she took everything for granted, and didn’t realize at first that not everything is what they appear to be. Then her relationship with Jared. She falls in love with someone she feels to have so much control over her, (you can see items in her room that reveal she had a crush on her stepfather? And he looks of course just like jared) but anyways I just love her line, “You have no power over me!!” At the end, she proves that when you fall inlove, and your heart was broken, they don’t have to have such power over you, that’s all in your mind…. and so, always, when you feel dark and alone, and broken, defeated by someone who broke your heart, remember that they have no power over you, they never did 💓
