Daryl huffed, trying to hold back his laughter. "No?"

"I was twelve or thirteen, pissed at my parents. I can't even remember why. The circus was in town, and I'd seen a lot of movies." He gestured vaguely in front of himself then at his own body. "Picture this, some skinny kid turning up in the middle of the night, determined to be a lion tamer. They put me in front of the lion. It roared at me, and I pissed my damn pants. Jesus Christ."

Daryl laughed, the sound making Negan smile.

"Shut up," Negan snapped, but kept his smile in place so Daryl knew he wasn't actually angry. "Have you ever had a lion in your face? Fucking big!"

Daryl tilted his head. "A tiger. Not a lion."

"Right. How could I forget about Ezekiel's tiger. Scary motherfucker!"

Daryl dropped the cigarette and squashed it beneath his boot and started walking away. "What happened after that?" He asked, turning his head enough to invite Negan to stay with him.

"I went home and changed my damn pants that's what!" Negan laughed, pushing off the wall to walk with him.
