; â â you know, â twirling her loose golden locks on her finger, Adeline cocked her head to the side with a sly look on her face. The person was blocking her way, and was indiscreetly staring. She looked the other from head to toe, raising an eyebrow at the details she found, well, interesting. Those feet look big. She chewed on her gum rather loudly. â you should take a picture. It lasts longer. Didnât your momma ever taught you that staring was rude? â
[ â ]  Observing her surroundings, Lyssa called it. Taking in her surroundings and analyzing them. It made her feel less out of place when she was alone. She hadnât meant to stare, really, and she normally wouldâve apologized for being a little rude and zoning out, but not today, not to her. âActually, no. I donât have a mother. And my father always taught me to pity people who think theyâre hot shit, so I was taking a moment to feel bad for your lifeless hair. Plus, youâve got something in your teeth,â she pointed out, baring her own and making a scratching motion. Shrugging, the girl pulled her hair back. âUsually this would be the part where I figure out who your mother is, but your overly confident attitude is super generic around here. You from the Isle?â
LYSSA & GABE | No, Sir, Not Me.
@lyssads
Gabriel rubs his towel through his still damp hair as he closes the door to his locker and picks up his bag from the floor. Today had been a pretty good practice day. Everyone was present and doing well, and it seemed that their captain was also in a good mood. Gabe is proud of them for making it through today.
He fits his damp towel in the plastic bag tied to his gym bag as heâs making his way out of the boysâ locker room. As heâs pondering what heâll need to do once he gets back to his dorm room, he doesnât realize that the person in front of him, just coming from the girlsâ locker room, steps on an especially slippery patch of ground until her arms are flailing and her body makes a jerking motion backward. He barely manages to catch her, but his arms have awkwardly hooked around her body, one arm around her waist the other over her shoulder and across her chest.
The strap of his bag drops down to the crook of his elbow and he fails to hold back a wince and a grunt at the sharp, stinging pain that comes with the weight of the bag dragging his full arms down. Once heâs sure that sheâs stable, leaning against him, he carefully helps her straighten up. He slings the strap of his bag back up over his shoulder and tries to meet her gaze.
âAre you alright?â
It's shaping up to be a long day for Lyssa. Maybe sheâs the one making it especially difficult for herself; she hasnât really found too much of a place to fit in, probably because she was comparing everyone she met to her bond with her brother. She's starting to turn into an angst-ridden teenager and she isnât a fan of the feeling.Â
But things couldâve been worse. The members of the swim team are all relatively nice, Iz is starting to warm up to her, and most of what they're teaching in class turned out to be things that her father had already taught her and Lyias. Sheâs adjusting, but she worried that itâs not fast enough to make a difference in her surroundings.
Sheâs not paying nearly enough attention to the wet floor surrounding the pool and she narrowly misses a puddle. âShit, that was close,â she mutters, only to have her sudden burst of luck change and step in another, actually falling this time. Her hands grab to cling on to whateverâs nearby, expecting to find nothing, but instead latching on to something- someone. Squeezed shut eyes complete her expression that clearly shows that sheâs waiting to hit the ground. Once she decides sheâs not going to fall, she opens one eye and peeks at whoever just saved her ass. âOh god heâs attractive,â she thinks, wincing at that even more than the prospect of wiping out.
She looks up at him when sheâs back on her own feet, one arm still wrapped around him in fear that sheâll slip again. âI- uh.... Iâm okay. I think. Thanks. For catching me, yâknow.â
okay I swear I'll be on later to do replies and get some more threads going so if you want to plot/want a vague starter, like this!!!

as much as he refused to admit it, he didnât like the way she was walking all over him, putting him down and subtly hinting at his lack of evil. hadesâ child was getting on his nerves, and he bites back a snarl, fist clenched behind his back.
âah, mustâve been the amount of kid icarus iâve been playing. i figured that since defeating the heart wouldâve hurt him in the virtual world, his daughter mightâve possessed a heart. that japanese game wasnât amazing though, what a lie.â he pulled out a nintendo ds from the back of his pocket before tossing the game cartridge into the field beside them.Â
he chuckled lowly at her claim, shaking his head in disagreement. âyou might want to read the book again. my father never had to stalk. and didnât your father teach you not to lie? especially when youâve caught me lying.â growing tired of the useless exchange of conversation between the other and himself, he pulls out a cigarette from his pocket. âyou donât get to orchestrate how i want my performance to be. if i want to stick to the same choreography iâve crafted for myself, itâs my choice.â lighting up his stick, he continued, âheroes or villains, itâs your choice, but no way in hell am i going to be your pawn. better luck next time.âÂ
seth made sure to exhale towards the direction of the wind, into her face.
She laughed, obviously enjoying that she was under his skin within minutes of the start of their conversation. While she wouldnât play completely innocent, sheâd feign ignorance about some things and that most certainly included the fact that she knew exactly what she was doing. It was all a game; he was the one who wanted to play in the first place with his lies, so why couldnât she show him the ropes?
âThe virtual world, huh? You read any mythology? Even that shit is diluted by blatant lies, so why would a kidsâ game be any sort of accurate? Ah, a true mistake on your part. Feelings make you weak. Thereâs no use for weakness here.â Her eyes followed his hands, glancing toward where the game had landed.
âWhy would I waste my time? I clearly donât care about what your father did or didnât do, nor do his slightly underwhelming accomplishments interest me in the least bit. Again, if youâve read anything about him, youâd know that heâs just about the best liar there is. He didnât teach me not to lie, he taught me how to make other people believe them. But that doesnât mean Iâm lying now. Guess youâll never know, though....â He just made it so easy for her to dig in to his pride, knock his confidence by slipping in sly comments about how bad he was at being bad. Digging in her bag, she pulled out her own half empty box of cigarettes and lit one. âCrafted? You sound like you created some masterpiece when really itâs rather.... Infantile. Simple. Effective at times, maybe, but nothing impressive.â At that point, sheâd gotten a bit tired of just insulting him, so she figured that playing to his ego might give her some different results. âPawn? Câmon, Wolfy, youâre so much smarter than just a pawn. You have your own pawns, donât you? And you see how they act. Donât you think I can tell that you donât play the game? You run it. At least, you try to.â
And she stepped out of the way, blowing her own smoke back at him in return.
he sensed her suspicion arousing through the tone of her response, and he isnât too surprised. lyssaâs an isle kid after all, and isle kids are never so trusty. he had initially thought that lyssa wouldâve been the rare, believing girl from the isle that was nothing like her parent, but unfortunately not. hades had probably brought her up too well.
âthatâs up to you.â he responded, shrugging his shoulders in the process. he knew to keep his teeth out of poisonous meat, and she wasnât too substantial enough to be lingering around with for long periods of time. seth stood rooted while she leaned towards him, mentally uninterested at what she was going to say, and even the close proximity didnât faze him.
âoh.â he thought to himself, âthe girlâs a fiesty one.âÂ
slouching back in his seat, he crossed his arms and nodded. âyeah, i donât give a fuck. just didnât want to break your heart.â why not play along? he had nothing to lose with a few more exchanges with the hades descendant anyway. âi know people donât trust me, and i know youâre not that naive to be one who spills secrets like how red riding hood spills addresses from her contacts book.â seth leaned closer to her, head cocking to the side. âthen why arenât you keeping up with that image of being the naive one? who knows, you couldâve fooled me but you threw that away.â
[ â ]  She rolled her eyes, picking up her bottle of water and taking a long sip. She was never one to mess with the delicate balance the universe had set between good and evil, so she wasnât entirely bothered by Sethâs demeanor. It was much different than her brother (who was about as good as an Isle kid could possibly be) and her father (who was professionally evil).Â
âYouâre right, it is up to me. Just like standing here and talking to you is entirely my decision.â She shrugged back.Â
A laugh left her lips. âOh please. You? Break my heart? How can one break something that I donât possess in the first place, hm?â Lyssa nodded, focusing more on her chipping nail polish than on her companion. âPretty sure that was a case of stalking and not a mismanaged date book, but sure. I donât have secrets, anyway. Gives people less to try to turn against me. Only people who think theyâre above the logic of secrets keep them.â Looking up, she smiled at him. âBecause I pity you. You need help, people arenât going to keep falling for that same old song and dance every time. Sooner or later, theyâre gonna figure you out and without a more solid act, youâre fucked. Up shitâs creak without a paddle. And, being the philanthropic, good natured girl that I am, I think I can help. You have a lot of potential but youâre taking the easy way out because you donât want to put effort in. Thatâs your first mistake. Plus, I havenât decided if Iâm going to be on the side of the heroes or the side of the villains just yet. Why lie to someone I could use later on?â She took a moment to look around, keeping her stance casual and seemingly friendly. âBut youâre right, I coulda fooled you. Just didnât feel like it.â
@dseth
ah, the girl has obviously trusted him more than she should. inside, he celebrates. gaining oneâs trust is one thing, but abusing the use is another. the more he knew, the better.
but he knows well enough than to take her bait so quickly. acting a little innocent could make her trust him more. besides, when the wolf is dressed in sheepâs skin, people would stick around, wouldnât they?
âmaybe,â he answers, lacing his voice with slight hesitance. âdo you trust me? some people donât, but do you?â
[ â ]  There. Just before he answered, she saw a tiny flicker of something suspicious. Her gut had already told her not to trust him, but she wanted to see how well heâd follow through on his act. Sheâd always had a talent for understanding people, reading them without ever showing that she was figuring them out. And sheâd started piecing him together; she had the second sheâd met him. Half of it was instinct, half of it was her interest in psychology, finding out why people are the way they are.
âI dunno, should I?â She asked in return, just as innocently. Like she was really considering spilling her guts to some guy sheâd only known a short time. That was never going to happen, especially not with someone who was following exactly in his fatherâs footsteps. âMaybe I shouldnât, but....â
Leaning in a little, she smiled. Now was the time she had to decide if sheâd let him in on her findings or keep going with pretending she was as gullible as he seemed to think she was. But Lyssa was never into theater or putting on a routine. âI think Iâd like you better if you werenât lying through your teeth.â She sat back, crossing one leg over the other. âCâmon, thereâs obviously a reason that people donât trust you. Why would I, someone who came from the same place you did, be so naive as to overlook that small detail?â
ââ â âI sincerely doubt he has the coordination for that,â Iz snorted, rolling her eyes. Axel was a goof. An absolute goof. He had a sense of humor, but that was the only thing Izzy thought he had going for himâthat might just have been because they were siblings, though. âNoted. I wouldnât say heâs necessarily sane either so you might just have a good shot.â Izzy was good with Lyssa. She was wary around some of the other kids from the Isle, because she didnât know them as well or trust them as much, but Lyssa didnât seem like the type to destroy the peace; kick up a little shit, maybe, but there were people who did that anyway. It was no big issue. âNot saying that I am,â Iz countered with a small shake of her head. âEveryone has duties and obligations. This is just how I deal with mine. Iâd rather not put anything in jeopardy. Thatâs Axelâs jobâmine is to clean up his messes.â Iz raised an eyebrow, but didnât comment any further. Maybe if she dropped it, Lyssa wouldnât pursue the matter.
[ â ]  "Yânever know, Tizzy,â she laughed. âYou know, I think I like that. Tizzy.â It was accurate, if nothing else. Izotiz Arendelle was easily the most anxious, nerve-filled person that Lyssa had ever met. The nickname was perfect. âTell me, does your mother have the gift of prophecies, too? I mean, I know she does the whole ice fingers thing which is, admittedly, pretty impressive, but itâs almost like she knew what a nervous wreck youâd be when she named you.â Was involving her mother in jokes a little harsh? Maybe. Probably. But it wasnât like she was being cruel about it. âIf it helps, âLyssaâ probably comes from the ancient Greek element âÎťĎ ĎĎÎąâ, which means âmadnessâ. But I come from the world of the gods. Thereâs no way they didnât know how absolutely bat shit nuts Iâd end up.â She nodded, feigned excitement apparent in her demeanor. âOoh, hereâs hoping. Iâd love to be your sister. I dream of dealing with you for the rest of my life every single night. Without fail.â Sighing, she finished off her drink and stood to pour herself another. âOh, get over yourself. Youâre not a janitor. Iâm sure that you were born just so you could dote on him while pretending that it doesnât make you want to jump out a window. Heâs a big boy, he can take care of himself. Maybe if you stop cleaning up, heâll stop making messes in the first place. Whatâs your damage? Really. Iâm curious.â There was no way that sheâd ever let any topic go that easily, especially not with her roommate.

[ â ]  âWhat the ever loving f-â Lyssa rolled over, rubbing her eyes before she sat up. âJesus Christ, Izotiz! Turn it off! NOW!â Sheâd never been one to respond well to being woken by loud noises. Or being woken at all. Her philosophy was âIâll get up when I feel like getting up, and anyone who tries to rush me wonât live long enough to regret itâ, and her family respected that. After another moment of being assaulted by the piercing screech, she shot out of bed and picked up the clock on the bedside table, throwing it at the wall in an attempt to quiet the room. When it didnât work like she wanted it to, she stood over her roommateâs bed, ready to fight. But there was no one asleep there. âHmm, no Iz.â She thought for a moment, nodding. âI could get used to this.â The alarm slowly made way to words, instructions, so she sat back down, listening to what was being said. âHaunted house? How lame. I grew up with the god of the dead; Iâm already unimpressed,â she mumbled to herself. She figured, however, that there was a wonderful opportunity to use her upbringing to make things a little more....lively.Â
Her usually âout thereâ wardrobe was perfect for this occasion, so she dressed quickly and headed out into the darkness. It didnât take her more than a few minutes to walk through what she thought was a decent amount of the school, giggling at what was supposed to terrify her. Eventually, she found a spot that looked like it was supposed to be a momentary reprieve from all the horror and scares. âPerfect,â she whispered, ducking down behind something that couldâve been a trashcan or maybe a makeshift hiding spot made up of a filing cabinet or something, and waited to see who would come along that she could mess with.Â
She was about to give up, walk off and finish this lame task, when she heard footsteps. Luckily, it was dark enough for her to get away with crawling out from her spot to see who was coming. Noah. Poor, sweet Noah who had no idea what was coming. She almost hoped he wouldnât fall for the trick she had up her sleeve. Not to mention that she definitely hoped he wouldnât dislike her for it; she thought he was awfully cute and scaring the crap out of him probably wasnât the best way to flirt. But she wasnât one to back out of an idea just because it could get her in a little trouble. He was finally within earshot and it was time for her to put her plan into action. The best way to scare someone was to lure them close enough and pop out when they were least expecting it, so thatâs exactly what she was going to do. She did what she could to imitate a stereotypical ghost, calling out his name just loud enough that he would hear. It didnât take all too long to draw him close enough to jump out and scream in an attempt to get him to jump. Laughing, she moved back toward the center of the room. âDid I get you? Please tell me I scared you at least a little.â
ok yes i may be evil and morally corrupt but iâm also incredibly beautiful and i think that makes up for it honestly
âWell, while I would love to spend all my time with you too because you get me and I know you, we canât always have our way.â And he really would. Lyias would pick his sister over any one else any day. He could be himself and not have to worry about how heâs being looked at and judged all based on his father. âIâm not sure if youâre the most sociable person I know, but youâre certainly⌠one.â Shaking his head he was going to attempt stubbornness, but that never went over well with Lyssa and she always ended up getting what she wanted out of him. But it still wouldnât stop him from trying. âI told you everything. I went to my classes, survived the day and thatâs it. Thereâs nothing else. Nothing interesting happened to me.â And he wasnât exactly lying. Nothing interesting happened, but only because he made sure to avoid any one and every one. No chances for anything interesting because he doesnât like interesting. He likes the normal. âNope. Youâre definitely the cuter one.â Nodding a few times he looked sure and ready to put up a fight for this. âIâm sure about this. Definitely cuter. Look at these cheeks.â Once again he was pinching at her cheeks and cooing. âSuper cute and pretty. Obviously the prettier out of us. Being twins has nothing to do that. We canât be twins when I look like I do and youâre so pretty.âÂ
[ â ]  âWell then thatâs bullshit and I object,â she laughed, despite how serious she was. Why waste her time with people she didnât like and didnât want to like when she could hang out with her best friend whenever she wanted? âNo, Iâm the number one. The most, the best, the greatest. The highest superlative in your whole life and not just in terms of my charming personality.â Raising her eyebrows, she started to form the signature pout that would get anything she wanted out of her brother. âYou told me the bare minimum, and when has that ever gotten you far with me? Hmm? Whatâd you do to make sure that nothing interesting happened, Ly? Iâll repeat: eternities in literal Hell, doesnât mean they were enjoyable.â Lyssa rolled her eyes. âShut up, weâre all but identical twins, shithead. Youâre just as cute as I am. Youâre asking to get punched right in the throat, Lyias Mortuus.â She swatted his hands away from her face, covering her cheeks with her palms once they were away. âMaybe if you started wearing makeup weâd look more alike, yeah? At least neither of us looks like Dad, you have to give yourself that much. Though the flaming hair would be a great addition to your look.â
She couldnât nod in agreement quickly enough, âSometimes, I wish that some people would wake up and realize that theyâre not that special.â Eleanor couldnât count how lucky she was that she realized how regular she was. Up until a few years ago she acted like she was so much better than everyone, she might of been the worst when it came to her self importance. Thinking back about her past self she couldnât help but shudder. Her lip turned into a mock pout, âAw, Iâm not going to see you on any of my dramas? My life just got sadder.â She laughed. âWell you lived that long without people but now you met me you couldnât possibly without me now.â She joked putting on her best âyou love me faceâ she had.
[ â ]  "As is the human way, my friend. Theyâll never admit to themselves that theyâre not as important as they pretend to be. Gods are the same way. Give âem a smidgen of power and theyâll trip over it for an entire lifetime.â She shrugged, having had this debate with her brother more than once or twice in the past. It was really an incredible thing, how people could convince themselves how much they mattered when they were nothing more than average. ââTs what happens when people refuse to open their eyes to whatever truth is around for them to see.â Rolling her eyes, Lyssa swam away from her. âThatâs what Iâm sayinâ. Youâll just have to get your fill of my pretty face while Iâm here.â She gave a sarcastic nod and pretended to swoon. Well, the best she could while treading water. âBut of course. My life would never be the same if I didnât see you again.â
