look at the sky, it's the colour of love
she stares up into earnest eyes - warm, earnest, hazel eyes that blink slowly back at her and instill such a sense of peace that her next words simply slip out without a second thought.
"i really like you, tetsurou," she breathes. those eyes flicker almost imperceptibly as he stares, a handsome stag in headlights. the brief silence allows just enough time for heat to start to gather in her cheeks before she begrudgingly clarifies, "like, like-like you."
another beat, and then that frustrating smirk twists its way across his features.
her eyes roll and she shifts away, their proximity suddenly feeling oppressive. "don't give me that face," she starts with a huff, "forget about it-"
but he steps right back in to her, gently grasping around her wrist and tugging playfully on her jacket sleeve.
"ah ah ah, you said it first." his voice lilts gleefully through the smirk that's quickly turning to a grin. "no take-backs."
he remains unperturbed by her answering glare which is effectively disarmed by his hand finding its way down to hers, a steady bridge built between their silhouettes. he swings them back and forth boyishly before sobering up with a softer smile.
"i like you too, adaline. i really, really do."
she surprises herself by meeting him halfway as he leans in closer, knocking their foreheads together gently. he hums to himself, almost amused.
