Stydia missing scenes: 5b-6a (3/?):
“Ugh, I can’t believe we’re late for school from binge watching your Star Wars movies all night.” Lydia remarks, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. Stiles can’t help but observe how effortlessly beautiful she looks.
He adjusts his body so it’s facing hers before he points out, “C’mon, it could have been worse, and if my memory is correct, I remember you were the one suggesting to watch a movie.”
“It was the only way to get you to sleep, instead of driving around searching for nothing again.” She admits, before tucking her hair behind her ears.
“First, ouch that hurts,” He pretends to be offended, “Second, your plan worked more than how it should have actually,” he winks, which lead to her playfully hit his arm. “What? C’mon it’s funny, we won’t get into trouble for missing a period or two, remember your mom works there,” he reminds her, smiling as he absentmindedly shortens the distance between them, leaning to help her with her hair, tucking a falling strand back behind her ear, while his other hand boldly pat the other parting.
“I guess,” She agrees quietly, her eyes fixated on his golden ones, by the way she’s looking at him, he knows that she realized something that’s may be troubling her. He was set to query, but all of sudden she groans, “Oh my God, I didn’t even tell my mom, she gonna think that we-” She pauses, full aware and terrified of what she almost said, so she chuckle it off, like it’s nothing, it’s not like her mom whenever she’s back from Stiles’ doesn’t bombard her with million questions and almost most of them are if they were together, they remind her that he isn’t actually hers, even though whenever he looks at her the same way he’s looking now, makes her believe that she’s where she belongs.
He laughs nervously, “Your mom will understand. She knows that we’re only friends.” The words come out without him giving them any kind of thought. Whenever the “only friends” subject is brought up, they dance around it. It preludes awkwardness they thought they passed or at least awkwardness friends shouldn’t have.
They’re just friends, aren’t they? It’s not like he woke up today with his arm all numb as a result of it lying beneath Lydia’s head. It’s not like he spent two minutes mesmerizing how peaceful and beautiful she is. It’s not like he had to gently and so slowly lift her arm, the one that was draped on his waist, just so he can slip out of bed, the last thing he wanted was to make her feel embarrassed. It’s not like now his fingers are brushing her cheek bones as he slides his hands out of her hair. It’s not like he’s looking at her like nothing else matters. It’s not like his heart is bounding in his ribcage because he caught her staring at his lips, her cheeks flushed, he bet his are red as hers. It’s not like he’s breathless when she whispers, “She doesn’t believe that.” And it’s not like they only stopped leaning towards each other just because his phone rang.
