Here's the first page, a little teaser, for my Oneshot SCARLET VAGABOND -- graciously published by Saturday AM in ISSUE #158, for #summerofmanga 2023!

I'm always late when I post here or on Threads BUT

Here we are, 2024!

Here's a look at how I laid down pages for my oneshot Scarlet Vagabond for Saturday AM's Summer of Manga class of 2023!

First rough pass, salvage any of the sketches and replace poor ones with better ones, do the inks, then export it from SAI2 to Photoshop to do lettering and tones.

I had both pages right next to eachother so I could read the flow, and to make double page spreads easy if I wanted to do them.

This was my typical layer setup for each. If I ever needed art to pop out of frame I'd make a folder above the paneling for that.

Doodles from today, trying to get my sketching more streamlined and skip the undersketching part.

I used to be able to draw without lots of construction and undersketching, but I lost that confidence under critical examination of my work.
