“ well i never said that. maybe just mildly bad at directions?” finally letting the grin out, she shook her head slightly as she began her walk toward that part of the building. “ well come on then. which chem class are you in?” chem had been a breeze for her, though biology was where her heart really was. she liked dealing with life far more than anything else. 

scott shakes his head with a playful roll of his eyes, not that she’d see, but this little banter with a stranger that didn’t feel like a stranger at all was weird. “it’s advance chem actually. have you taken it before?” he asks, clutching the strap of his backpack awkwardly as they walked together.

“jacen,” ben’s brow furrowed slightly at the sight of his brother - he couldn’t remember the last time that he saw him, it was back home, before they both fell. “I had no idea you were here,” he paused, “does mom know you’re here?” he asked. “I think practically the whole family are here, so if you haven’t I’m sure you’ll bump into her at some point.” he smiled slightly. “how are you?” he asked.

“flattery will get you nowhere.” she replied, trying to keep her expression stern, though she knew she wouldn’t be able to keep it up for very long. and sure enough, she grinned a moment later, laughing and gesturing for him to sit. “but luckily, food will.”

(¸.• ♛ → a small smile was on her lips and nodded at what he said. “yes, i will totally do that.” looking at this little dog really wants her to try and adopt one and having the love of a dog sounds nice. “they are so cute and i have time in my hands to just take care of one of them.” and that’s good because they really need someone that have some time for them.

jacen’s glad to have convinced her to do it too, because honestly it’s been the best decision he’s taken ever since he got here. “it really just does require a lot of dedication to take care of them, but it’s worth it.” how his mom would feel about him having a pet though... well that was a problem he’ll think about some other time.

“she does? how are you doing with that?” she didn’t know much about her parents, though she admittedly knew more about tenel than jacen simply for being able to spend some time with her growing up. but she assumed they’d gotten along well enough before caedus.

she was at least relieved he didn’t hate her after how long she’d apparently been ignoring him when she’d forgotten he existed. “you are a lifesaver. i loved that place. and i definitely need a break.” the redhead laughed a bit, shooting a text to her grandfather letting him know she was stepping out as she moved to greet emmett.

she could overhear some of the agents talking, someone being down at the front gates saying they knew her. she could read through the lines when they thought she was listening, codes that they probably had no idea she knew about. “let them up, whoever they are.” she said after a few more moments. “if you don’t i’ll just go down and get them myself.” leia continued, arms crossing over her chest as she watched them, waiting for whoever it was downstairs to be escorted up. they were bold enough to come right to the white house themselves, she might as well give them the chance to say their peace rather than standing around fighting with the agents at the gates.

“Ok good. Because you know, there are people running around this place with the same face, like doppelgangers. It’s pretty weird.” Stiles hadn’t seen anyone that looked like Scott so he knew for sure that this was his best friend. “But I know it’s you. You still have that wet dog scent.” Smirking, he was only teasing the other. “But I’m not kidding you. I actually met someone that looked like me. And no, before you say anything, I wasn’t talking to myself in a mirror. So just beware of that.”

“Well I still hope you get to see her again.” Mara nodded trying to be kind and friendly. “Um yeah my parents live in the suburbs but that’s it.” She was pretty alone otherwise. Never really say her parents. They didn’t have time and she didn’t really have time either to go and see them. Obviously she didn’t know that was all just in her head because of whatever magic was here.

So there really was no extent in her remembering Ben, or Luke, or any of the family. Instead of sighing in relief like he was tempted to do, Jacen nods solemnly. “Well this is a surprisingly welcoming town. Even without family it’s nice to meet new people.”

“Oh good.” Satine let out a sigh of relief. “I know she was a part of the Death Watch trying to get rid of me but always believed she could do great things.” Satine smiled kindly. She didn’t take Bo’s decisions personally. “No it doesn’t seem we do have a choice. I cannot say I am mad about it really. If we were back home I wouldn’t be here. Here I have a chance to be me. Not just a duchess.”

Yeah, it seemed like such a resounding story for everyone to have such a tragic story. He can’t really blame her for thinking this way, not when he was the same. “It’s a little new but I agree with you.” Back at home, what would he have been? Well, aside from not alive.

“did you end up stretching?” the question was expected, he was sure. people who were drained or wiped out from excessive exercise seemed to get that question regardless but achilles knew he would be sorer if he hadn’t taken the time to stretch out his joints. “definitely better than a treadmill. here you’ll get somewhere, on the treadmill? you’re just staring at how long you’ve been going or how far.” 

“I did.” He nods, taking a swig of water from his bottle before leaning back completely. “Thankfully I didn’t forget, so I think it just has been a while since I ran this much.” And he’s glad that the other agrees because there really was much more to see outdoors, it felt more refreshing to be seeing the rest of the city instead of being cooped up in a gym. “So do you run this route a lot?”

“I was wondering when you’d show up here,” she smiled softly at the other as she approached him. “have you seen anyone else yet?” she asked, “practically everyone is here, except for jasper, he’s not here yet.”

nik stalls because jacen was right. jacen was bloody right and nik was so full of his other shit that he didn’t realize that he had said those words. with everything going on, it had been lost in translation, so he pauses. this is on him, jacen being gone, it’s on him. “i did say that.” he muttered, more for recollection of the past events. “no.” he pauses, his hand reaching out to grab the others arm.  “you’re going to explain what happened.” and he knows they’re in a grocery store and that he should probably call and see if winter could pick up ivy and he’d do that. “you’re coming home first. rumor has it mom might have been in the kitchens again and if it’s true, you’re suffering with me.” 

Just remembering it was hard, hearing those words from the brother he held so dearly in his heart was hard, and it took quite some time for him to move past it. Even today, just looking at Nik made things feel a little more fresh. But with Nik grabbing his arm, his brows furrow slightly in confusion at the sudden change in attitude. Despite the disbelief, he can’t help but laugh at the comment of their mother being in the kitchen, and he can only shake his head, pulling his arm away gently. “You know we can just make excuses to not eat our meals in the house.”

“Summers, are you trying to imply that people that people who sweat aren’t decent human beings?” she said with mock offense. “Granted, there is something to be said about some of those folks lack of acquaintance with some deodorant. Speaking of,” she reached back into her back pack and dug around a bit earning a distinctive ‘wenk’ from Amazing Baby. “Oh I’m sorry your royal highness,” she muttered at the pup over her shoulder before turning back to Scott and tossing him something, “Body spray. Will have you smelling fresh and ‘decent’ by the time we hit campus.”

“No, but they sure lack the decency to at least smell good enough around others.” He jokes back, brows furrowing as he watched her dig around her back pack before taking the time to look around the train. There were lots of people, seemingly minding their own businesses. Sometimes, Scott still couldn’t believe how easy it felt to fit in. It’s when something hits him on the arm and lands on his lap that his attention is back on her, then down to the bottle. “Why do you have body spray in your bag?”

“jesus, scott. way to lay the hammer on the head.” there’s a breath that falls past her lips because all of this is already a lot and she isn’t sure if she’s capable of talking about what happened. she barely got over her first death and now she knew that vampires are real because she got bit by one and died from one. “and you smell like a wet dog that hasn’t be to the groomers in weeks.” she snips back at the other, knowing that if it was possible, her heart would be kicking against her ribs. “do you think i’m a ghost because even i wouldn’t be that cruel to haunt you.”
