Lux's hand rested gently on the silver balcony railing, eyes gazing wistfully at the stars. He- because yes, it was certainly a masculine day, he'd say- often found himself stood here, skin chilled by the night air, with a distant expression and even further out thoughts. Lux was very proud of how he ended up in life. His house was larger than a typical mansion- though not quite as large as a castle- built and furnished with only the finest materials. Not a single thing was of mediocre quality, he made sure of it. And he never had to work another day in his life- a perk he was certainly glad of. One would think that it would be enough to satisfy him. But the mansion was large, and cold, and despite the expensive furnishings, quite empty. Sometimes the halls would echo each footstep, each murmured word, a loud reminder of the silence, the loneliness. Lux quickly turned away, heading back inside and laughing bitterly, without amusement. He hadn't time or the energy to worry himself with such ideas. Why would he of all people need friends? Surely no one was worthy enough. A walk, he quickly decided. A walk around the lake at the park just down the road would settle his mind. He yanked his jacket-custom made to fit him perfectly and elegantly- and set out on his way to the lake.
