blog changes ahead. i’m splitting my muses up and giving them their own blogs, at least, well, mercury is going back to his own blog. i may or may not add more muses here depending on how i’m feelin abt them,, but as of right now it’s just yang here, so whether or not i change this to be a yang blog or keep it a multi will come sometime in the future. right now i’m focused on moving mercury back to @mercurous bc i’m struggling with the whole ‘multimuse account’ thing. i tried it and thought it might help but alas, bear with me pls :’) any merc threads from here should be moved over there but feel free to remind me of them because i am liable to lose something for sure. thankies y’all

     "something tells me you're gonna be a handful," yang sighs to themselves, a smile evident in their voice. midnight had a similar mindset to yang, which meant they could easily find common ground, but yang had just found out about midnight's extremely protective nature. watching the girl lose her head over protecting her teammates was like looking in a mirror — blonde found themselves enamored. maybe they could find an equal in their dark-haired counterpart, and perhaps even a good sparring partner. maybe more, if they played their cards right. "hey, midnight!" yang called, a smirk painting their lips, "you, me, dinner at seven? we can spar to see who gets the bill!"

     an audible pop could be heard above the sound of a cry, and the stranger's shoulder was completely dislocated. mercury let go of the man, pupils naught more than pinpricks, and watched him slump to the ground and grab his arm in fear and agony. stepping over him, quicksilver rested the same hand that caused such damage, on weiss' shoulder. "come on," he urged, standing close, "we've got better things to do than focus on this handsy jackass." thinking quickly, mercury slipped his arm around hers, beginning to lead her away. "just roll with it, let's get out of here." once far enough away from the scene, hidden as it was, mercury relaxed some and let go, nudging her shoulder with his own. "would'a taken your hand, but no schnee would be caught dead fingers laced with the likes of me." a soft snort of laughter. confusing feelings be damned. just because he felt innate rage and a possessive wave when someone tried to touch her doesn't mean he's caught feelings, right? he'll keep telling himself that.

     grey eyes narrowed at disguised faunus, fully aware that she knew more about him than he'd like. emerald had told him to keep his distance, avoid contact, don't draw attention — but mercury was good at what he did, and he knew how to keep a low enough profile. having caught blake alone, silver leaned against the far wall, arms crossed in a more defensive manner than usual. "you're a handful of trouble," he spoke calmly. a pause. then a shrug. "more than a handful, if you ask me." pursing his lips, mercury nodded his head towards her. "a bow? really? wouldn't your friends in the white fang be a little … disappointed?" he couldn't help the sneer that settled on his face, features twisting up for a moment. "or is that little stint done? taurus has seemed a little more on edge lately. though i do try to steer clear."

     ‘so,' he began, relaxing onto one leg and crossing his arms, 'you are welcome to make this easier on yourself and give me the whereabouts i'm looking for, by all means, but the difficult route sure is more fun.' eyes shone with taunting excitement, and he glanced over at ren for a moment. 'for me, at least.' stepping closer to the main in question, mercury crouched down in front of him and placed one hand on the handle of the knife embedded in his skin. waiting for a moment, to give adequate time for a reply, mercury cocked an eyebrow. stubborn suspect gave no outward response. with a shrug, mercury took hold of the dagger and sliced clean through the hand, severing sinew and flesh to pull the blade out through third and fourth finger. the cut was clean, and the shrieking noise that echoed off the walls around them made mercury's eyes crinkle with a smile. as if just looking for a place to put it, mercury embedded the majority of the blade into the decoy’s thigh, ignoring the way the man shook and screamed. 'again,' he started, voice pleasant and calm, 'do you have something you'd like to tell me? you have a hell of a lot of untouched body space, and i can be here all day.'

see i wasn’t gonna post this yet bc im very tired and not super happy w the finished product but i knew if i didn’t do it now i probably never would — so have some casual mercury on this fine wednesday afternoon

weiss’ comment was met with a blank stare as he replayed the words over and over in his head, struggling to process them as a whole. careful ... brows furrowed, and quicksilver eyes glanced away. ‘yeah, somethin’ like that,’ he murmured, voice a little hoarse. quickly collecting himself, he brushed his thumb over his own bottom lip, feeling over the now-clean split. ‘uh, thanks, you — i could have handled it on my own, but i guess i’m glad i didn’t have to.’

he eventually gets tattoos as well, but the only one i currently have semi-planned is a monochrome geometric floral piece to cover the brand marcus left on his right hip.
