The Leak Heard Around The Groupchat
It was supposed to be just another chill weekend. Chris and his girlfriend were laying low, minding their own business â until it happened.
A private video of them, recorded months ago and never meant for anyone else, had somehow made its way online. Screenshots flew across the internet at light speed, and the trolls came crawling out like roaches in a blackout. Comments flooded in, targeting her body, her nipple piercing, her back dermal, and even the way she moaned. People called her a âslut,â a âwhore,â and fat like it was a national sport.
Chris was pacing, furious, phone buzzing non-stop.
âIâm gonna kill whoever did this. I swear to God, Iâm gonnaââ
His girlfriend sat on the edge of the bed, hoodie covering most of her face, tears sliding down but her jaw locked tight.
Then the group chat started blowing up.
âYo⊠I just saw what happened. You guys good? No judgment here. Anyone coming at her gotta go through me.â
âPeople talk sh*t when they got nothing else going for them. Sheâs beautiful. Period. And you two donât owe anyone an explanation.â
And then came the surprise voice memo from Madison Beer, who had become something of a big sister figure to Chrisâs girlfriend over the last few chaotic months.
âBabe, please donât let these keyboard gremlins mess with your head. Youâre hot, your piercings are iconic, and none of these people would ever say a damn thing to your face. Keep your chin up. And Chris? Protect your girl. Sheâs got nothing to be ashamed of.â
That made Chrisâs girlfriend tear up again, but this time from the support.
Chris sat next to her and wrapped his arm around her.
âYou didnât do anything wrong,â he said. âYou trusted me. Trusted us. Thatâs not shameful â thatâs love. And f**k anyone who canât see that.â
The next few days were rough â Chris and the brothers launched a full-on hunt to figure out who leaked it, while also shutting down rumors and clapping back at anyone disrespecting her. But through it all, she held her head a little higher knowing that the people who actually mattered had her back.
And that, despite the leak, she still had her power.
It had been a few weeks since the leak. The internet wasnât talking about it as much anymore, but Chris could tell it was still eating her alive.
She didnât say anything, but he saw the shift â how she stopped wearing her usual clothes, how every day it was a hoodie and sweats, even in the LA heat. She pulled her sleeves down constantly, flinched when people touched her arm. She barely touched her food, kept skipping meals. Her voice was quieter. Her laugh wasnât the same.
And tonight, heâd had enough.
They were all hanging out in the living room â Matt, Nick, Madison Beer, Chris, and his girlfriend. Music was playing low, the vibe chill. Madison was painting her nails, Nick and Matt were messing around on their phones, but Chris wasnât focused on any of it.
She was curled up in the corner of the couch, sleeves covering her hands, eyes dull. She smiled when Madison made a joke â but it didnât reach her eyes. Chris leaned over and touched her leg.
âHey,â he said quietly, âcome downstairs with me for a sec?â
She hesitated, then nodded.
They slipped away from the others, down to the basement where Chrisâs room was â door closed behind them, muffled sounds of the house above disappearing.
She stood awkwardly near the bed, arms crossed tight over her chest.
Chris leaned against the dresser, watching her closely.
âI need you to be honest with me,â he said gently. âWhatâs going on?â
She shrugged. âIâm fine.â
âNo, youâre not.â His voice cracked a little. âI know you. Youâve been hiding under hoodies for weeks. You barely eat. You donât even look at yourself anymore. You think I havenât noticed?â
Her eyes flickered, but she didnât say anything.
Chris took a step forward. âIâm not mad. I just want to understand. Please donât shut me out.â
Then finally â her voice cracked.
âI just feel disgusting.â
âI keep seeing the comments. The way people picked me apart. My body, my piercings, the way I looked⊠they made me feel like trash. Like I deserved it.â Her hands trembled as she spoke. âI thought maybe if I hid myself, it would go away. I thought if I stopped eating, maybe Iâd feel pretty again.â
Chrisâs stomach dropped.
âAnd when it wouldnât stop,â she whispered, pulling up one sleeve just barely, revealing red, raw marks on her skin, âI didnât know what else to do.â
Chris was already moving â stepping forward, wrapping his arms around her like she might shatter. His voice shook.
âWhy didnât you tell me?â
âI didnât want you to think I was weak.â
âNo.â He pulled back just enough to look in her eyes. âYouâre not weak. Youâre hurt. And I hate that I didnât stop it. That I didnât protect you better.â
She started crying again, and Chris held her tighter, guilt crashing down over him in waves.
Upstairs, Madison had noticed they were gone too long. She looked at Matt and Nick, concerned. âIâm gonna go check on them.â
By the time she got to the basement, she walked in quietly and saw the two of them on the floor, Chris holding her tightly as she cried into his chest.
Madison didnât say anything at first. She just walked over slowly, knelt beside them, and placed a hand gently on Chrisâs girlfriendâs back.
âYou donât deserve any of this,â she said softly. âThey donât get to define you. They donât know your heart. But we do. And we love you.â
And with that, she broke again â but this time, in the arms of two people who werenât going to let her drown in it.
