I just thought of a prob kinda weird headcanon and it's like the entire wizarding world has absolutely ZERO concept of food expiration dates and it DEFINITELY causes health hazards β like wizards just cast a basic preservation charm and vibe, absolutely NO ONE is checking the back of the fridge + milk stays chunky for three months, and they just assume itβs a specific type of magical dairy texture
I think Hermione would try to explain what "best by" means to Ron or the Weasleys and Ron would think it's basically just a muggle prophecy for food
Like Harry has probably accidentally eaten a sandwich that's been sitting around for GOD knows how long and only noticed when he realized the green fuzz halfway
