Late in night, you awoke next to your beloved in your shared bed. You groaned in protest as the night outside was still pitch black, with your partner still in deep slumber next to you. Moonlight filtered through the curtains, illuminating his features. Great, now you were so fixated on his face that it made you impossibly awake.

you stared at his face, with a rare tranquility masked over it. It was one of those times that he finally had the opportunity to rest, to have a temporary getaway from the chaos in his everyday life. In his sleep, he shifted slightly, pulling you closer to him, legs locking you in place. “Don’t go…”, he muttered unconsciously.

you frowned and smiled at the same time — it was a weird expression. It was a weird feeling too, seeing your tough and rough lover perform such needy actions, clinging onto you for comfort when he was the one protecting both of you. You sighed as you draped an arm over his neck, stroking his hair gently.

as he slowly relaxed into your touch, you were reassured, for it was only in times like these when he would show his insecurities…
