“ OOH, I LIKE THAT, ” luna cheered, her eyes widening as the girl spoke. “ ‘ strange human courting ritual  ’ i have to say, wouldn’t have thought of that myself, but i’m a big fan. ” she chuckled, taking note of the idea. “ so, frat boy chad - i’m assuming his name is chad - what do you think about him ? is he like freaking out or is he desperately trying to get footage of this on his snap story ? ”

LUNA MATCHED THE GIRLS chuckle, as she had to admit, the .gif was pretty odd. she nodded alongside to what the girl had to say, trying to run with the idea in her head, but nothing really came to her. “ i mean, i guess you could call it a project ? ” luna said, unsure, cocking her head. “ i’m an author, actually. i write childrens books, and my big winner is a series about this ‘lil alien guy. i’m trying to start on the next one but ... i don’t know, i can’t think of anything. i was hoping for inspiration to strike, but instead i just have his choreo down to memory now. ” she offered, with a weak chuckle.

“ I THINK that’s cute ! ” that girl cheered, making a note of what they had said on a napkin. even if it were cliché, luna didn’t have too big of a problem with that. clichés are clichés for a reason afterall. and, plus, it was a childrens book anyway - those things are chock full of ‘em. “ like, maybe he successfully landed his ship on the new place, and he gets out and does a lil jig. ” she spoke, rocking her shoulders up and down, as if dancing with the alien. “ thank you, by the way. i’ve been dealing with writers block, so hopefully this can get the ball rolling.”

TAKING A SIP from her latte, cozied up in the corner of the coffee shop around the corner from her home, luna showed an intense focus on her laptop in front of her. anyone passing by would surely be confused, as it was just a .gif of a green alien dancing, but luna swears it’s for work. it’s to spark inspiration. at least ... it should be. “ hey, sorry to bother you- ” she said, tapping the shoulder of the customer sitting at the table next to her. she turned her laptop to face them, as she asked “ does this spark any inspiration to you ? like ... what do you think his story is ? ”
