     They had just been watching movies, and for once Gyro was the one falling asleep before Della. Maybe because it was her choice this time, and she was more invested. Gyro had been caught up in his own head, leaning against her as he listened to the dialogue and focused on Della’s steady breathing. And then there was a shift, and he could feel a small peck on his forehead as the words were whispered to him. Did… Did she think he was asleep?

     Well he was almost there, but not quiet. Yawning as he stretched, and grabbed her in a hug, he pulled her down with him as he laid down on the couch, forcing her to lay down as well. Arms wrapped around her, and having made sure that she could still watch the TV he sighed, head resting just behind hers. Squeezing her gently, he adjusted so his head was nearly laying on top of hers and kissed her cheek.

     That was all he said at first, holding her close, and feeling her chest rise and fall with each breath. Pulling her close again with a squeeze, he adjusted one final time. His voice was very quiet, and it was obvious he was on the verge of falling asleep any second now. He still had one last, tired thought he needed to get out before he could, though.
