Hockey player! Andrew Cody x reader
Youâve heard it all before being the coaches daughter always hanging around a bunch of guys. The players on the other team would call you a whore and the girls that showed up in the tiniest skirts with hopes to getting into anyone of the guys pants had the audacity to call you a puck bunny.
In the beginning when you first started going to with your dad to practices and games what they would say did effect you, but you were a 15 year old girl who had no friends or really anyone to talk to. It wasnât until Andrew that you really had anyone in your life and when he became your first friend and then your first boyfriend that you truly felt like you had someone you could be yourself with.
His own family treated you as had been apart of it for years. Deran took you surfing on weekends trying to teach you how to stand on a board without falling off in 2 seconds. Craig drove you around if you needed to run errands and didnât want to do it yourself. Baz would throw parties and make sure you felt included never leaving you to sit in a corner just people watching.
Andrew was never worried when it came to his brothers with you he was just happy that they accepted you.
So after a couple months of dating when the words and taunts started getting worse you tried your hardest to keep Andrew from hearing the words and taunts they would throw your way. It worked for the most part, until it didnât.
You woke up in the arms of your boyfriend at 7am blushing from the memory of the events before and evidence that was scattered across your skin. Getting up to get dressed and head to the kitchen to grab breakfast met with Deran cooking something quick before the game at 12pm.
It had been game day, it started out as any normal game day would.
You guys made it there at 10 am. Andrew had a ritual he followed on these days and getting there at a time like this was perfect. It gave Andrew plenty of time to warm up with the team, get dressed in his uniform and get his head in the right space.
This was the typical tradition he had followed since starting his hockey career, but today was different. As he was in the tunnel shaking his limbs and pumping himself up to gain another win two guys from the opposing team walked by talking about you. At first he didnât hear them too busy being in his own head to focus on what they were talking about.
It wasnât until they said âcoach (y/l)âs daughterâ did he pay attention. He heard what they said about you, the way they degraded your name and who you were as a person. It lit a fire in him he hadnât felt in a long time, and just as he was about to do something about it you appeared.
Tearing his eyes and thoughts off the other teams defense man and forward that needed to learn a thing or two about respect. He was vibrating with rage when you grabbed his hand.
It was normal for you to find him in the tunnel right before the game. You knew he found peace in the little of silence right before puck drop. Seeing the other two there as well wasnât so normal, they knew they were in the wrong tunnel it was evident from the eyes they kept sending yâallâs way. They were there to stir the pot, they wanted to get under Andrewâs skin and it was working.
So when you had his hold on your hand you grabbed him even closer his good luck kiss that you gave him before a game. You knew they saw, you wanted them to . You wanted to show them you didnât care what they said about you anymore. The two guys left for the ice with a scoff clearly disgusted by the PDA you willing showed in public.
This calmed Andrew just enough infront of you, he was still pissed about what he had heard, but with you in his arms currently he couldnât help but feel loved and proud. After a couple minutes and few encouraging kisses later( because after hearing what you have to hear constantly and not just beating the shit out of them on the spot deserved a few more kisses) you left him to go sit in the bleachers with Deran.
From the beginning to end of the first period Andrew didnât have to play his enforcer role all too much, only getting a few warnings here and there. Second period is when it started to heat up and by the time it was the third and final period you could tell he was full of pure anger.
Down on the ice far away from your ears the same guys from the tunnel were still shit talking you. Andrew tried to let it go, he knew that if you found out that he got in a fight because of what they were saying you would be pissed at him. He knew that you would tell him it wasnât worth the energy, but you were his girl no one got to speak like that about you ever.
When the clock hit 8 minutes left coach threw him back into the game, skating back on to the ice towards the center Andrew stopped dead center ready for the referee to drop the puck. His blood was still boiling too focused on the puck that when the forward from earlier came into view he didnât realize.
Not at first, but when he looked at Andrew and tilted his head to the side before asking âhow a slut like you was in bed and if once he was done with you if he thinks youâd let him have a turn?â That sent Andrew over board his vision went black and when that puck dropped so did his gloves. He took him by the jersey ripping his helmet off and beat him to a pulp. Three of his team mates had to rip him off the guy and lead him towards the bench and out to the tunnel.
From the bleachers you sat there holding Derans hand at the event that just took place, you had seen Andrew pissed before but this was another level. Letting a string of curses out you rushed down the stairs of the bleachers running to your boyfriend yet again during a game.
You found him sitting in his locker stall by the time you reacher the locker room. He had his head in his hands gripping his hair, your heart hurt for him you hated seeing him like this.
Approaching his large frame you laid your hand on the back of his head feeling the tension leave his body. No one else would dare come up to him after an explosion like that but you.
Tilting his head up to you, you saw his face full of angry tears, not because he just got ejected from the game but because of the words they wanted to use about you to get to him because to him his heart beats for you too and you donât deserve to be treated like anything less than a princess.
It took a couple minutes before he was ready to talk, his tears had subsided and his breathing had evened out. Andrew told you everything that he had heard them say and the demeaning questions that jackass from the tune had about you. You didnât say much, just continued to hold him when you thought the time was right you moved his head yet again and kissed him. It wasnât fast pecks like earlier or a hard long one, instead it was soft and passionate.
Andrew didnât understand though, he expected you to be pissed at him, he expected a fight between you too to break out. He was just met with more love from you, in moments like that he felt he didnât deserve you.
Breaking the kiss you just thanked him for being your hero. That earned a chuckle and him pulling you down to sit on his thigh. There was a sweet silence that surrounded the both of you, he knew that heâd have to stay and at least face the punishment for his actions from your dad but with you there he didnât feel like it was all that bad.
Andrew did end up getting benched for 3 games but it was worth it especially when he was able to just sit with you during them.
Side note: ugh I love hockey player! Andrew Cody. Can you imagine wearing his name and number on your backđŤ
