But I've started giving attention to other things. Like my dinosaur dress. It's my favorite dress and this new layer of appreciation makes me feel even more beautiful. This dress and I are already pretty now, and together we make a stunning team.

I thanked the trolley I rode for a tour yesterday in my head and patted the seat. I felt so great. I appreciate my brush for putting up with my messy hair and helping me keep it nice. My pin backpack is a longsuffering peach. I overstuff it with stuff far too often, but there hasn't been a problem yet. My coffee mugs are from all over America and now they could share stories. In my head I mean.

Magnets from different places now are not just a souvenir of that place, but have some of the mannerisms or soul of that place in them.

Life feels more alive when you thank the things that help you day to day.

I've always had a love for the physical world. I named the tree Tiny Tom at the school that taught pre-k to 1st grade. He was one of my best friends. (Yes I'm aware that's sad. I was a very lonely child all throughout elementary school) I talked to that tree almost every day about how big he was growing.

I've always treated the world around me with a different sort of love. Now that I'm reaching out to reconnect with the little objects and things in my world and my room, I'm finding so much joy in every day.
