Since Shari is twisted from the lamp and her father from the cave of wonders (iirc), does she have any siblings that are the other treasures in the cave?
Shari is an only child! I wanted to reflect the lamp being stored in a cave to a lonely girl that has no social contact (like she is home schooled, she eats alone, she reads or weaves a lot etc.) I do wanted her mom to be the angry ruby statue though! Her parents made sure to make the perfect wife of their daughter and will speak for her on any occasion
