Idk if it helps but the way i think about it is whatever anyone on social media says about you, they would've thought it anyway. They would've thought it if they overheard you say it on the phone, they wouldve thought it if they saw you walk by on the street, they just wouldn't have said anything. If you were coworkers, whatever art you showed them they would've had their opinions anyways. Its just that now they're audible, and they're not just your friends. People get used to positive feedback in real life, because you get it from people youve already curated, because those who wouldnt like you dont hang around you long enough to say anything. On social media, youre not showing your stuff to your friends, you're showing it to complete strangers- of course they're gonna have worse opinions now that you're broadening your audience from target to general (if thats the word?). I'd say be yourself and make things for you and the people who would like them made, otherwise youll only have people that like you for your fake persona, and you'll only be making things you don't like. Shrugs
that's a good point, thank you. it's not mostly people (other users) i'm worried about, but i really appreciate you taking the time to say this and i'll take it to heart
