Criminal minds writers really said “in case you were not sure about the Jason Gideonification of Spencer, we will end his character arc in season fifteen in almost the same way Gideon’s character arc started in season one. Enjoy.”

I think the Lynch plot line might be the final nail in the coffin for me. I get it, they wanted to end the show with a big spectacle, because it was the finale and it had to be memorable, with a final big cross seasons unsub and explosions (literally).

But criminal minds was not that. Not at the beginning. I would say that the first big, continue across different seasons unsub was Foyet, who was introduced at the middle/end of season 4 and was gone by episode 9 of season 5. And then the next one was Mark Hamill? In season 8? And he lasted one season. And there were a bunch of two parter unsubs here and there.

We could’ve had a last season that went back to the beginning, with maybe a more complex two parter unsub, and the big dinner party at Rossi’s with heroes playing while they all dance.

Instead, we got the plane exploding.

My biggest gripe against criminal minds evolutions is that it's referred to and it's on streaming services as seasons 16-17-etc of criminal minds instead of being season 1-2-3 of criminal minds evolution. It has a different format, it was made for streaming and not for network tv, it has an entire different quality to it. It should be treated as its own thing.

Also the fact that the last episode of criminal minds aired in february 2020, and it ended in a very final way, with characters leaving and going on their own way. It was *the* finale.

And the revival, Evolution, was announced in 2021.

They're making them so dumb!!! It's so frustrating. They're making them so dumb because Lynch is not that smart and because we already had not one but two episodes about con men who could change their behaviours and appearances and they were both super duper smart and still got caught in one episode. So to make it believable that this time this type of plotline needs a multiple episode arc that covers multiple seasons, they just made the team INCREDIBLY STUPID.
