Notice how Bucky was moving out of his fighting position. He was starting to stand down and almost lower his guard, which isn’t something we see him do with anyone else, at least as far as I remember. And this is with someone who effortlessly stopped his strongest punch.

The literally only reason why he didn’t acknowledge it later was because they didn’t want to frame Tony manipulating and blackmailing a 14-year-old into becoming a child soldier as wrong. Otherwise, Bucky would have called this out as soon as humanly possible!

There are many great additions in the notes about the younger soldiers in WW2 and younger Steve, but I want to add that Bucky is an older brother. According to ca:tws, he had three younger siblings.

Yes he had 3 sisters all younger too and speaking as an older sibling myself it’s not a mentality you outgrow. Even if you no longer have them ( something me and Buckt unfortunately now have in common) you maintain that nature. I love how thus has been pointed out time and time again.

Peter may be engaged but he’s still a child and Bucky is one of the few that recognized this, even if only briefly shown onscreen.
