Allegra Triton

Everything inside of him wanted to jump at the invitation - an impulse that Silas was sure wasn’t a good thing. But, then again, she had said that Aria wasn’t around and really, didn’t that mean he was safe? As long as Allegra was the one to invite him to sit down and her big sister wasn’t going to bust out of nowhere and kill him, what was really the harm? So, despite his better knowledge, he let his book bag drop and pulled out a chair, sliding into it across from the girl. 

“I don’t want to bother you or anything. Just saw you and figured I would see how you were doing. There was a lot going on at that dance it seems, not sure if you were really following all of it.” He had never been much of a gossip, but when you had nothing else to do, it was pretty easy to keep your ear to the ground and pick up on a few loudly whispered conversations. “You’re probably glad that you’re not the oldest child, huh? Not having to deal with all the…social stuff.” A touchy subject, sure, but it was out of his mouth before he really had a chance to stop it. “Sorry I meant - just royals and family connections and expectations, you know?”

Ally had spent a lot of her life thinking about what it might be to be in her sister’s shoes. She was so proud of her, so enthralled by her strength, the courage it took to make all those decisions. She shook her head, feeling relaxed now that she felt like things were at least not as tense between her and Silas.

“Silas, it’s not a bother,” she offered him a gentle smile and shook her head. “I don’t...want to be hostile anymore. I don’t want to feel like that. I hated how I felt about you and how I still feel about you. But I’m not going to let it ruin my days anymore. We were really good friends. There’s no harm in being that again.”

“Aria has a lot of strength. I don’t think I have the smarts to do that honest. Like I’m smart, really smart, but I’m not intelligent in the way I should be to be a leader. All the politics. I just want to be happy one day with the person I love.”

ARIA: no we are ABSOLUTELY talking about you right now. you did WHAT?

ARIA: first of all, i'm definitely lost sometimes. i just have a really good fake it 'till you make it attitude.

ARIA: SECOND, why would you even think that??

Ally: because he took you out and now you've been acting weird as heck. duh.

Ally: Seriously Aria if it's not about a boy Idk what it's about.

LUCY: thanks. i think closure is important for every single member of my family.

LUCY: and thanks for that. i'm going to text you later and i need you to meet me at the barrier. i've gotten permission to go across it and come back, but i still don't super trust auradon not to mess this up in some way. also a ride back would be super nice.

LUCY: yeah, we'll play laser tag or something where that would make sense.

Ally: i love laser tag! Omg that would be so super duper fun! I'm for it!

Ally: okay! Do you want me to drive you there too? moral support no the way? Otherwise I'll just drive you back. And we can pick up milkshakes.

ARIA: i have NOT been acting weird. and no.

ARIA: i've just been... lost in thought this break.

ARIA: you did WHAT?

Ally: um, no. we are not talking about me when there is OBVIOUSLY something bothering you? Like. what is up, Aria? Something. Because you aren't ever lost.

LUCY: it is truly NOT a big deal. i'm putting a final nail in the coffin of the tremaine part of my life and giving my family the closure they never asked for... along with a few other minor isle tasks. the most important thing is that i don't have to be there any longer than necessary.

LUCY: ...would that not get confusing? no code names. this is a very straightforward task. in and out within 24 hours.

LUCY: he'll know. he'll just know... after the fact.

Ally: no worries. You tell him when you think is best. Obviously this is something that's really important to you, to put a close on this part of your life. I find that really admirable Lucy!

Ally: you tell me what to do and where to do it and consider it done. I'm hre for you!

ARIA: no, no! i'm home too!!

ARIA: it's just... big castle. sometimes hard to tell.

ARIA: i'm totally fine.

ARIA: 100% good.

ARIA: just wanted to see how YOU are, really.

Ally: um....are you sure about that, Aria? You've been acting a little weird since the Winter Ball. I saw you with Finn....he didn't do anything weird to you, right?

LUCY: i'm more worried about the whole... getting across the barrier and being allowed back thing to be honest. it's a day trip and i don't know if we're really supposed to come and go as we please like that.

LUCY: which is where you come in. you meet me at the barrier when i give you the signal to in order to ensure i'm allowed back in a timely fashion.

LUCY: fitz might want to come... again. and like... no offense to him, but that did not work out last time. this is a solo mission with some mission-control-style backup.

Ally: I can be there for you! however you need me to be! honestly. But it might help if you talked a little bit about it. no pressure either way, I just wanted you to know I think we're friends and I want to be as supportive as I possibly can!

Ally: either way i PROMISE i can make it sure you get back!!! It'll be easy, peasy, lemon squeazy

Ally: Omg do we get code names? That would be so cool. You know I used to have a lot of dreams about being a spry. Mr. and Mrs. Smith style. Except we're like Ms. Tremaine and Ms. Triton. OMG MS AND MS T.

Seeing her at the winter ball at been pretty jarring, even more so taking into consideration that they had actually danced together, something Silas hadn’t planned on doing at all. Now, he wouldn’t say that he had been avoiding her necessarily…okay, fine. He had been avoiding her, but it had been for both of their benefits really. Surely it had been as awkward for Allegra to think about the next morning as it had been for him. So really he was doing them both a favor by staying away so that they didn’t have to have the awkward conversation. That favor of avoidance seemed to be coming to an end though as Silas made his way into the library, practically freezing when he realized there she was, right there in front of him at the study tables and…fuck. Okay, so she seemed to have seen him. Great. There was no running any longer. This was fine, it was all fine, Silas told himself as he made his way over, offering a soft smile. “Ally, hey. Didn’t get to really tell you goodnight after the dance and all that. Did you end up staying long?” @allegratriton​

Most nights these past few days had been exhausting. She was determined to help Lucy with her quest but life was getting more and more complicated by the minute. Sometimes she longed to go back to the castle and live at home in the comfort of those warm walls, watching the clouds pass by while she dreamt of the future. But not it wasn’t that easy, was it? College was certainly proving to be much more exciting than she had could ever thought it would be. Silas, well he definitely played a large part of that. The dance had completely resurfaced all those feelings she was doing a perfectly terrible job at hiding.

“Not really. I slept fine, thanks for asking.” Ally offered him a soft smile, readjusting her hair tie. “I’m just doing a little light reading. Did you, um, want to join me? I’ve got plenty of table space. And Aria isn’t around so I promise she won’t come running over with Grandpa’s Trident to make you into a fish kabob.”

ELLE: i'm currently on campus, if you're nearby. i have no plans all break!!

ELLE: that's the spirit!

LUCY: at this current time i'd actually like to keep the details vague.

LUCY: i just need to go to the isle for a day or two this break. and i need assistance in trying to figure out how to make that happen.

Ally: yeah yeah for sure! I could ask my parents to borrow a boat to get you there if you'd like?

ARIA: ...are you home?

ARIA: just wondering.

Ally: I'm home :) what's up?

LUCY: hey. it's lucy tremaine.

LUCY: i... would greatly appreciate your assistance with something.

Ally: oh hey lucy! It's great to hear from you! What's going on?

ELLE: oh i would absolutely be up for that!!

ELLE: he doesn't exist.

Ally: Awesome! (/^-^)/*** are you available for tea sometime soon? I'd love to go with you!

“Thanks, I wasn’t really sure what to wear to this. I mean, I know people dress up, but I wasn’t actually sure what specific outfit to wear and how dressed up people would be. It’s good to know I wasn’t like totally off the mark or anything. Since, you know, knowing my luck I would actually dress up like expected and then people would be dressed down this year or something…like that…” 

He was rambling, he knew he was rambling, but Silas couldn’t really figure out how to stop it. He got a bit rambly when nervous and fuck was he nervous at the moment. He had planned this, practiced in the mirror even, but nothing really felt like it had been enough. For a moment he wanted to kick himself. He had been unprepared and yet he had thought it was a good idea to approach the girl, who surely thought he was even more of an idiot than before. 

Gesturing behind him, though Silas wasn’t entirely sure where as he didn’t really have anything to focus on behind him, Silas let out a nervous chuckle. “So I should um…get back there. Unless you wanted to…dance, maybe? It’s a dance and we’re not dancing and I’m pretty sure that’s…a crime or whatever. Can’t spend holidays in the slammer.”

There was something about Silas that always brightened her day. It was why she had fallen so hopelessly in love with him in the first place. Whenever she was down or trapped in her own head, he could always stumble his way past it all and make her smile. He would hear her day dreams for hours and nod along, never making her feel silly for whatever flights of fancy came her way.

Before she could stop herself, Ally reached out and took his sleeve so he couldn’t walk away. “A dance would be fun, I think. Just us. We haven’t danced in awhile. That’s my thing right, dancing.”

She bit her tongue to keep herself from talking anymore. Dancing with him was always her favorite part. It was hard to find someone who understood her rhythm so perfectly.

“I can’t. Especially when I’ll have to help Aria once she finally figures out that there is a boy who likes her. Hasn’t quite hit for her yet.”

ELLE: omg what's a basket of gratitude? i love movies!! we definitely should.

ELLE: really?

ELLE: ...still allowed. If he doesn't exist on the school website, can you really have feelings for him?

Ally: thanks Elle. You're a sweetheart. we should definitely hang out sometime without having to fear for what the school website will look like

ELLE: Really? Of course!! I can't believe people weren't more interested in the school website.

ELLE: ...if he was a mean ex-boyfriend I think maybe that one would be allowed, though.

ELLE: I think it might take a little more than a wave of a wand to get me to where I need to be, but I like working hard.

Ally: You're doing a lot of work and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it! I was thinking of making sure everyone gets baskets of gratitude once the website is completely up and running. Then we can sit around and watch movies together or something to celebrate.

Ally: Maybe no magic wand will work, but I definitely think we can work something out! It's not too hard once you get the hang of it.
