At first Mashima mentioned he finds it the most interesting when a couple is in love but not together yet, and then if he decides when they’ll be officially together is based off his mood…

So hearing that whether he’ll make his couples official was based off his damn mood, I was like well there goes that lol.

Buttt I was also like… so you admit it… they’re in love 🙂‍↕️ he wasn’t specific as to which pairing but in my opinion he’s talking about all of them considering they’ve all been the slowest of burns (nalu, jerza, gruvia)

Then the following day Mashima, once again confirms that both Natsu and Lucy canonically have feelings for each other, that they share ROMANTIC FEELINGS TOWARDS EACH OTHER, MORE THAN FRIENDS (as he has mentioned in the past) but I feel like him bringing this up in 2026 and rephrasing it differently made it go viral and everyone started spreading misinformation that Lucy and Natsu were officially together 😭

It was literally trending and people that stopped keeping up with FT were even joining in on the conversation

And THEN Mashima had to clarify that they aren’t official, just they definitely view eachother as more than friends, and that he might make it official in the future…. like omg that man is annoying af lmaoooo

All in all though, am I a bit disappointed that there is this 50/50 that we’ll actually get to see Natsu and Lucy, or even Jellal and Erza become official?

Yes of course, but I actually am pretty happy Mashima THE AUTHOR OF FAIRY TAIL is confirming Natsu and Lucy DO view eachother in a romantic light (and is insinuating that they’re in love with each other??) because now no one can take that away from them 🤭 even though I always knew too, I personally didn’t need it verbalized to know what the truth was but now people who don’t believe it can just argue with the wall now lol 🤷‍♀️

Sorry to the people that just viewed them as just a friendship or worse having a SIBLING dynamic (very gross and weird even if you never shipped them which is fine but to say they’re like siblings 😟 eeeyuck)

Natsu and Lucy are always going to be soulmates 😌❤️
