Alright, so I am actually pretty pleased with this one.
Was messing about with different brushes on Alpaca and found the blending function. Ended up with Azkaellon looking moody. His hairband more than makes up for it though. Turns out being able to paint Non-Metallic metal is a transferable skill!
It’s not perfect but I am pleased none the less.

Played about with some faces earlier on today. The top six I used miniature heads to get proportions and where they sit in place

Just remember, when it all gets a bit much, Azkaellon wears a skull headband to keep his hair out his face. This has cheered me in some dark times, sad as it is.

The Eternal and skin-tight leather

@lustmord brought up the idea of some leather-fetishwear for Lucius and I just had to draw it. No way to resist. He loks so damn good with a little harness and a posture collar.
The Dark Prince is pleased.

I'm refusing the hairlessness, though. Will never-ever draw him without gorgeous, fulgrim-esque hair.
(tumblr ate a lot of the different blacktones I used for his outfit. Well, such is life in Latvia)

I like the shoulder pads better every time I do them.
I must remember that everything has a width. Those helmets need work - shall work on this pretty soon. Maybe do a study sketch session tomorrow.

OP you forgot the side thight armour on primaris that’s why they look curvy
Yeah I think so.
That and the straight leg - his calf armour is not flared enough - they’re not straight in design but kinda like flare out, so that needs to change with the next one I do. I might even redraw this one over the top and add those corrections in!

Just some sketches I worked on this evening.
The opposite of usual - sketching a space marine inside the armour. I get it - these guys have wide shoulders and bodies. They’re just WIDE full stop I think.
These exercises are helpful though, they make me think of how the marines would look in the armour, and therefore move!
This is almost grotesque but now I need to see some Primaris out of armor art.
We’ve all seen the blocky firstborn stuff, and in trying to fix it, I think the Primaris may have become even more grotesque through *height*
Oh god I have no idea if I am ‘good enough’ to produce anything that would be halfway passable. I mean, just look at this thing’s FACE.
That said, I do enjoy a challenge.
