NEEHU Friday, Part 2, Or #ToppyTennfan
Song of the Day: Doc Watson, “Sittin’ On Top of the World”
So NEEHU 7 was the first event that I actually had real live advance plans for - an actual dancecard, like a real grown up! Not just “let’s do a thing, maybe” but “we are doing this thing at this time. Be there. aloha.” This entry will cover the first of those.
So in the weeks between Charmed and NEEHU, I had a lovely correspondence with @luckyalbatross2. We’d crossed paths at Charmed and stayed in touch, making plans to play a bit at NEEHU. On a FetLife post for people’s NEEHU wishlists, she left a simple three-word reply:
In inquired as to what that could possibly be about and she mentioned that the TV show Galavant had a running bit in which a princess is controlled by a magical tiara that causes her to obey the wishes of the person who gave it to her.
We did some negotiation and worked out a nice plan. It’s worth noting a few key facts:
I had never done a fully realized toppy hypno scene
I had never seen Galavant.
So I did what you do in these situations and ordered a tiara off of Amazon and got to work planning. The idea was that @luckyalbatross2, when wearing the tiara, would simply find anything I said to be utterly fascinating, anything I asked of her to be the most logical course of action, and that she would feel a lovely sense of contentment general happiness in the process. Of course, she’d be totally unaware this was taking place.
So after Friday’s classes, @luckyalbatross2 came by my room and we got to work getting the suggestions established. She’s such a wonderful hypnotic subject. There’s something genuinely delightful about hypnotizing people who are capable of going to wonderfully deep places. I took her down into trance and plotted a bit with her subconscious to help ensure the suggestions really took hold well.
My favorite suggestion was the idea of an “out of office” message - if anyone saw the tiara and asked about it, she’d automatically respond that it was a gift from me and to ask me about it, and then pleasantly forget that.
One of the best moments as we practiced the suggestions in the room was when the tiara fell off of her head - the look of shock and joy on her face as she had instant awareness, followed closely by the gentle, perhaps slightly vacant, smile as I put it back on her head was, well, utterly fantastic.
@luckyalbatross2 was wearing the tiara all night, and there were some really lovely moments - these are probably out of order, chronologically:
Sitting in the “fishbowl” room and having @luckyalbatross2 bring me increasingly complicated series of items from the kitchen. It was clear that keeping more than one or two thoughts in her head was just terribly hard.
“encouraging” her to join the audience for Hysterical Literature - more to come on that topic generally - and enjoying her delightfully vacant experience. It turns out that she was, and this is a direct quote, “Too dumb to understand any of the readings, so I was mostly thinking about times I’ve been fucked, which was great. But I *did* totally get into the Hop On Pop reading. I could understand that one.”
As the night wound down, I wanted to make sure that we put some closure on the tiara’s effects, but first I spent some time helping @luckyalbatross2 realize that of all the pleasure she felt could build and grow into a really wonderful moment of bliss. The level of bliss actually caught me rather off guard, but it was also incredibly hot to share that with her.
One moment that we’re both proud of came when I was waylaid a bit during the evening. We’d always intended that @luckyalbatross2 would be able to roam around and such and that I could also float a bit - that was actually part of the fun. But I got pulled into something else for a fair chunk of time, and thanks to good planning and negotiation, she was able to work around that, and I was able to feel comfortable and not deeply distracted.
This scene worked because we really negotiated it out - a lot! When I’m being hypnotized, I tend to enjoy more spontaneous play with people I really trust to know my limits. But as a hypnotist, especially someone starting to feel out what that looks like in the idea of doing “scenes” as opposed to just messing around, the extensive negotiation is what made this something I could really enjoy.
This was, without question, the “toppiest” that I have ever been. The entire experience was really delightful, which was a large result of @luckyalbatross2 being amazing. Our negotiation happened over weeks, and it was really useful to understand what she wanted and what she loved.
Am I leaving my switchy ways behind? No chance. But it was really fun to indulge that toppy side in a more defined and planned way. Will definitely have to do that again sometime.
