A  FLESH  WOUND?  FUNNY.  DIDN’T  LOOK  LIKE  ONE.  Brows furrowed  into  a  concern ,  head  following  suit  with  a   tilt  to  the  left  while  she  observed  Jessica.  If  it  were  just  a  flesh  wound , then  she  wouldn’t  have  been  carrying  herself  with  a  limp , nor  would  she  have  winced  with  every  step  she  took.   The  carpet  wouldn’t  be  tainted  with  her  blood , either.   Neena  could  confidentially  call  bullshit !  

“ YEAH! THAT’S A FLESH WOUND. AND DID YOU HEAR? I’M THE NEW POPE ! ”  She’d  thrown  herself  haphazardly  on  their  couch ,  almost  positive  she’d  heard  one  of  the  springs  creak  in  the  i’m  about  to  snap  kinda  way.  Maybe  it  was  time  they  sprung  the  cash  for  a  new  one,  but  she’d  been  trying  to  get  the  dirt  out  of  the  tiny  crevices  when  Jess’d  walked  in.  Now,  though,  she  was  up  and  blocking   the  way  to..  well…  anywhere  else  in  the  apartment.  Neena  was  literally  inches  away  from  Jess —  arms  folded  and  a  look  that  read  she  wasn’t  about  to  let  this  slip.

HAPPENED. ” Her  words  were  stern,  concern  and  fear  were  laced  within  her  words.  A  hand,  though  calloused  from  years  of  pulling  triggers  and  general...  shit,  came  to  rest  softly  against  the  leather  of  Jess’s  jacket ---  squeezing  lightly  enough  for  it  not  to  hurt,  but  hard  enough  to  know  she  wanted  that  answer.  “  M’not  letting  you  tell  me  no  one,  either. ”
