Company By The Sea || Lucas & Ava

Ava looked over Lucas’ face, smiling softly as she let him talk and explain. When he finished she leant in slowly and pressed a soft kiss against his lips. “I really like you too Lucas and I don’t think I’m going to want to leave if you’ll be here.” She smiled fully at him. “I can’t tell you how much it meant that you didn’t judge me for what my mom did. I’m not sure you could ever let me down, even if you tried.” Ava took a couple of deep breaths as she looked around the beach, working up the courage to ask Lucas something she’d wanted to for a while. “Lucas, what happened? What made you feel like that? That you’d never feel this good again?”

Ava's words lingered in his ears, he loved hearing her being truthful. A smile grew on his lips in return. However, it didn't take long for her to to bring up the inevitable. "I didn't know that you didn't know.." He shrugged his shoulders, watched Ava's body language. "My sister died before I moved here. We got in a pretty bad car accident after one of my soccer games." It's not that he hadn't accepted what had happened, Lucas has come to a pretty good place with what happened. "I mean.. of course she's always on my mind and a piece of me always thinks it should of been me and not her, but I'm in a good place with what happens, you know?" He honestly didn't even know what he was saying sometimes. Lucas felt almost like he just rambled on when he didn't really know what to say.
