To me Alex Danvers is the emotional heart of the show. As the character who has come the farthest, both as a woman and a hero, I’ll be spending some time on her.
It helps that the software I use has a lot of sci-fi assets, which ties in nicely with Supergirl which has always been science fiction orientated. Getting a likeness of Chyler Leigh was another matter: Katie/Lena was achieved pretty quickly- I did her first as a vampire then from that crafted a human version. The base for Mel/Kara was also arrived at fairly quickly but the refinements that strengthed the likeness took place over a period of time.
Alex was another matter: I had gone through at least 6 iterations before putting her on hold. With the benefit of hindsight I think it’s because expressions really transform Chyler’s cute elfin features resulting in different looks. Even doing a toonified version proved to be a challenge but more on that in later posts.
While I had initially thought of a DEO scene for her first render, the set which would have been perfect was not on sale. Casting around for inspiration I remembered Jim Steranko’s iconic cover of Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. # 4, which has since been updated and re-created by other artists.
The first version is is closer to Steranko’s original, making use of halftone figures and op-art backgrounds. The second version keeps the op-art backgrounds while modernizing the foreground elements.
The DEO logo is from spoofnerd on Deviantart. If you do decide to download and use it, please send the artist some love.
The line comes from the S1E10 episode “Childish Things”:

I chose to go with the Legion Reboot version instead of the classic Bronze age (arguably so iconic that even the late, great Dave Cockrum didn’t give it a re-design when he took the LSH out of the 50s-60s into the 70s) because I always felt the original was a little plain. Compared to the other looks Brainy has in the comics this one is minimalist in a good way <3
Jesse Rath did a wonderful job in bringing the character to life, not just because he’s a comic geek but also because he’s a wonderful actor. Wishing even better things for him when SG wraps this year.
This is the first of several “love letters” to the Supergirl TV series, its cast and SuperCorp fans. It’ll be toonified versions of the Super Friends and will end with, appropriately enough, SuperCorp.
Because the character is new and hasn’t yet made an appearance in the comics (see below) I had to kitbash her costume, hopefully it will still be recognizable as Dreamer’s outfit. I keep telling myself that I need to learn how to make clothes.
I had first read of Nicole Maines in an Advocate article heralding her landmark win in a suit against her school district and in a Washington Post article: “becoming Nicole”. When she was cast in Supergirl four years later I was thrilled for her. On June 8, 2021 Nicole’s Dreamer story not only introduces the character she brought to life to the pages of the DC Universe, she wrote it as well.

Before I went on my break from tumblr this was something I had conceptualized in 2019 but was unable to make work then. In the interval I’ve gotten better and technology has improved.
Inspired by All-Star Superman. In this AU Kara and Lena have been married for a bit. When Lena asks for and is given a sample of Kara’s DNA she makes a heartbreaking discovery: that years of absorbing solar energy has resulted in the telomere extension of her DNA making her immortal and eternally young.
Unwilling to let Kara go through another loss of family and friends Lena subjects herself to a reckless and dangerous experiment of chimera-ing human and Kryptonian DNA. Against all odds it works. They now patrol the skies as

After the first episode of this season’s Supergirl I needed some light, fluffy Supercorp to feel better, and the second episode reinforces that =(
So here’s Kara and Lena on a weekend getaway: it’s a place where Lena can take a break from her public persona and where Kara’s disguise is a cap and tomboyish clothes ;D
Lena’s place is different from her National City office and apartment: instead of being ultra-modern and sterile, it’s comfy with a garden bathroom. By coincidence while the set’s garden was green and purple, those colors wound up being used when I retextured the towels and the bath as the original white was too glare-y in daylight. It was only when the third piece was rendering that I remembered purple and green are Lex Luthor’s battle colours!
Because it takes me longer to write a story than do art, which leads to longer gaps between posts, I decided to open an AO3 account. From now on I’ll post the art here, work on the story, then post both as one work in AO3. It will make the stories easier to find. AO3 also has no censorship so there’s that ;)

Lena had always planned to have a morning and evening reception: the former for people from her world (captains of industry, movers and shakers, the Diplomatic Corps and a Head of State or two), the latter for the superfriends, Kara’s numerous friends and officemates and the L-Corp people.
Lena’s plan was strengthened when Kara showed her the invitation that she herself designed. Even though it wasn’t to her taste (and one never criticizes the taste of one’s fiancée/girlfriend/ wife in anything, not if you want to keep the relationship going) she praised Kara and told her about the 2 reception idea “that just popped into her head”. Luckily Kara loved it and was thrilled to pieces.
The only guests to receive invitations to both receptions were their Meta friends, who were familiar enough to members of both sets so as not to cause comment. They were also back-up security in case it was needed (miraculously it wasn’t and the big day was completely boring, from the security point of view).
There was also another reason why Lena wanted a year of preparation for the wedding: Lena knew she had no rhythm and couldn’t dance: she was determined to give Kara a perfect first dance- the tango. Fortunately the discipline, practice and muscle memory that resulted from practice upon practice stood her in good stead.
They agreed that a perfectly executed Tango might be too intimidating to follow and the “twerk and jerk” session to My Chick Bad (Remix) that came after was what was needed. Combined with a buffet and open bar the festivities lasted until sunrise.

After Supercorp: Total Eclipse of the Heart, I wanted to do something romantic and it was while looking for a romantic song that I came across the amazing God Only Knows by the Beach Boys (which I listen to obsessively every so often).
The lyrics remind me of Lena and Kara’s relationship with its ups and downs. Wikipedia, quoting Andy Gill of the post-punk band Gang of Four from a June 18, 2016 article in Consequence of Sound , cites: "I can’t think of any other 'pop love song' that is pinioned between a febrile, almost desperate desire and fear and its opposite, a contented contemplation of a harmonious relationship.” That description definitely sounds like what both Kara and Lena experience in their Supercorp relationship.
Once the question has been popped (which is another piece altogether), Lena had to persuade Kara to a year’s worth of preparation for the big event.
The pictures are of the invitation they sent to the people on Lena’s list, who would be attending the formal morning reception.
The non-denominational ceremony was held on one of Lena’s National City estates for privacy and security. Kara decorated the wedding car.
Wedding pictures were taken in a gazebo island constructed for that very purpose (to be updated when I’ve finished designing the superfriends).
