i’ve decided i’m going to try to learn to code so i can make a selfship/yumeship app :3

i’m sick of seeing ai/vibe-coded apps and there are a lot of features i want that i don’t see on other apps. also, there just… aren’t any selfship apps out there 😭

soooo please lmk what things you’d be interested in seeing in an app for selfshippers!

i might include:

- templates made BY MYSELF (not stolen from other artists, like a certain app there is…)

- sections for lore, writing, art etc etc

- obviously the ability to log multiple ships, and maybe have connections between ships for multi/poly selfshippers?

- totally offline, so all your data is stored on the device the app is installed on. this will make it more private, but will mean features like a friends list isn’t possible

- at SOME point, and with some funding and enough interest, an online version may be made to allow for friend lists and such

- widgets and f/o messages maybe?

- no dni, no barring ANYONE from using the app, no blocking people from any official socials (tumblr, discord, whatever) for the app

- if the app is found to be useful for something other than selfshipping (such as ‘regular’ shipping, irl partners, etc), then it will be encouraged to use it for that too

anyway!!

lmk what kinds of things you’d be interested in seeing! i need to know what exactly i want for the app to better approach learning to code (i.e. prioritising certain things over others, after learning all the basics)

So I mentioned on my main blog that I ordered a bunch of things online, mostly press on nails but some nonhuman gear too

The reason that I’m posting about it here too is because I just HAVE to gush about what I’m getting in relation to Simon

I was scrolling on Pinterest and saw this dog tag+ring set (where the ring is literally just on the chain next to the dog tag) and I was instantly reminded of Si.

So with my order, I got a plain dog tag with a clasp (because I believe most dog tags have those chains that have the ball things? that you push into a little bit and you’re not meant to undo and redo it, it’s meant to be a permanent closed loop of chain if that makes sense) and a plain silver band ring that I can put on the chain. I was originally going to order a few sizes larger than my fingers but ended up going with a similar size so my family doesn’t think I’m stupid for getting a ring too big LMAO

Anyways, on the main street of my town there’s an engraving and book exchange shop so I think I’m gonna take the dog tag there to get it engraved with something like this:

some people use “yume” in place of this. they mean the same thing!

in the same vein, “yumeship” is the same as “selfship” afaik. some people use yumeship as a more ‘inclusive’ term (including things like platonic and familial relationships, oc x cc as well as self inset x cc) but “selfship” has always includes these things too, i’m pretty sure

the only reason i don’t use “yumeship” is because i kind of view it like “thing: … thing japan: …” and i don’t really like that :,)

2.) selfshipping is shipping yourself with a fictional character! so, i ship myself/my self insert (s/i) with simon riley

for me, selfshipping is a healthy way to cope with my trauma revolving around romantic and sexual relationships

i consider myself to be married to a version of simon that only exists with/for me. it’s how i cope with the thought that doubles (people who also selfship with simon) exist. my simon is just that: MY simon. no one else has him, no one else dates him, i’m his one and only

some people selfship for fun and maybe see it as purely roleplay or something online. for me, i’m delusional and psychotic, which affects the way i view my relationship

namely, i view it as 100% real. this delusion isnt harmful to me, and actually helps quite a lot with my other mental health problems, so my therapist actually encourages that i engage with selfshipping like this. as long as the delusion isnt harming me and is actively helping me, she says that i can indulge lol

reminder that delusions aren’t necessarily distressing. the only requirement for delusions is that the belief is objectively false and does not align with reality. the diagnostic criteria actually specifies that the person’s daily life is not markedly impaired other than the presence of the delusion
