Who was the child LT tried to save, but failed? (I'm sensing some connection to Cole)

Boy, it sure is dusty in here. I’ve made myself busy with...things. Wouldn’t you know it’s a pain in the ass to get hired by an animation studio and the Hollywood hustle is exhausting. My fire for this AU is just on the backburner, as I still think about these guys often (even thought about writing a ConnorSwap-verse fic, but then remembered I’m sitting on two unfinished D:BH fics).
I hope folks are doing alright. I don’t keep up with Tumblr these days, so it’s like I’ve fallen of the edge of the world.
