The Astrology of Attraction

Its said that Venus in a house represents a 'relationship' with the themes governing that house in particular. When you pair Venus with the 2nd house, you have a very interesting combination. In le ancient greek myth, Venus is said to be ruled by Aphrodite and frolics over the 2nd and 7th houses because they represent love, art and material possessions. In the 2nd house, thats exactly the case.

Venus in the 2nd house people LOVE their material goods. They might even find that they get more of a pulse out of accumulating useless deals through a Black Friday sale than a cheery romantic comedy. Venus is in one of its homes here, so there's a love affair with wealth. They might be hoarders, shopaholics or classic 'defensive eaters' because they believe that everything they want should naturally be theirs..by any means necessary.

The advantage to this placement might give someone the leverage to be very successful financially. This is the house of Taurus and Taurus believes in all things security. These are the people that have the best life insurance lying perpendicular to their bank account balances. To them, there's a 'comfort' and security in having “things.” In extreme cases, its luxury. In more mild cases, its a safety net. They're also this way with friends. You won't catch a Venus in the 2nd with a risky best friend or even acquaintance. They have a tendency to look down on people who constantly get themselves into a jam because they just can't fathom ever having it themselves. They'd rather be safe than sorry and there's a sort of modern wisdom behind this way of thinking.

If you have Venus in the 2nd House, consider accounting, real estate or anything that directly associates you to money because you'll have a natural affinity for it..and in THIS day and age, its recommended we all befriend someone like this. Ironically, these people will also keep Bravo spendthrift reality shows and financial consultants in business.

There's definitely something diplomatic about the first one. She doesn't believe in grand gestures of affection, intense prickling intensity or child like romance. She wants someone who believes in old fashioned romance and someone who's sleek, sophisticated and refined. 

The second aries is going to have an ENTIRELY different perception of love than the first one. The second aries believes in fast love and immediate stimulation. The first one, even though they're fiery and hot tempered, values a degree of worship in love. They expect grand gestures, but ALSO a parter that values depth, super disney esque romantic love and bleeding intimacy. 

I have no idea. We don't predict or call anything based on a sun sign alone. You know how magazines, radio stations, newspapers and quirky little teen areas of media sites have a horoscope section and you're used to seeing which sign you are based on your birthday? 

Yeah. We don't do that here. Thats called your SUN sign and only makes up 0.01% of who you actually are astrologically.

Why butterflies you ask? I've done a bit of reading on this one, and its said that Venus in the 1st house represents a “social butterfly” of sorts. Since Venus = Relationships and the 1st house represents the self, Venus in 1st house means “Your relationship with others and yourself.” They're social butterflies because their lives exist around the connections with others they create.

This placement has two sides. On one hand, you have someone who supposedly has a very well crafted sense of self. They're individualistic and can distinctly carve out their opinions and their beliefs from those of everyone else. On the flip side, all of those beliefs, opinions and HOW this person is crafted dependently rely on their relationships WITH other people. Get the link?

According to Venus in the 1st house, they build their self image by sometimes over prioritizing relationships in their lives. Its as if they can't-exist-without them. Even though some astrologers and amateur star gazers associate this position to Libra because they say that Venus in the 1st gives this person a love of beauty, charm and finesse, we think that that's just hitting the surface.

For our next special segment, we're going to talk about Venus in the houses. If you do your natal chart on cafeastrology, astro.com or any other site that allows you to see your houses because you've provided your birth time, something very special happens when your natal Venus falls into a house.

Starting now into the next week, we're going to dedicate ourselves to those that have this alignment. Doesn't mean that there's anything 'extra' about them. When a natal planet (say mars or uranus) falls into one of your houses, it means that THAT particular area of your life is going to have a little extra moan and “oompf!” For example, there are some people out there that have multiple planets in one house and others that have them scattered. Someone that has Neptune falling into their 12th, 8th and 7th houses might be someone that tends to lose themselves and forget the world around them in their relationships socially and romantically and feel as if they have some spiritual attachment to them. When a planet falls into a house, it makes that area in your life MUCH more emphasized and it creates a pattern of events that circulate around them.

If you don't have Venus in any of your houses, it doesn't mean that you're less lovable, unsexy or anything negative. It means that another area of your chart is going to have a little more emphasis. For instance, maybe you have multiple planets like your Sun, Moon and Mars in Capricorn and they fall into your 2nd, 4th and 10th houses? THAT means that love is totally secondary to you and you're going to be the next Donald Trump with how much fucking money you might make because you value discipline over playtime. See? There is NOTHING to be ashamed of!

Keep your boxers and your panties on folks because you're REALLY going to have fun with this one!  

We're going to talk a bit about how aries loves and screws for people that have it in their 7th and/or 8th houses, Venus and/or their Mars in Aries or have their venus and mars planets aspecting a crap ton of others (particularly each other and pluto). 

Aries doesn't really love, they love HARD. People with Aries 7th Houses want relationships that they dominate and partners that seem un-dominatable -- because its fun like that. If you have Aries in any of the the love planets or houses, people probably have this idea that you're a hard one to wine and dine and to catch. 

Aries doesn't play that. The Aries 8th house people want partners that will physically, emotionally and psychologically drive them insane and CONSTANTLY make them work for it. They think that subtlety is bullshit and they love men and women that look like they own multiple love dungeons. 

This person needs a good Cancer dominated by Leo placements or Pisces or a Leo dominated by Cancer or Pisces placements. 

I completely agree. ESPECIALLY if their mars-planets aspects anything (particularly venus, pluto and uranus). 

Nearly perfect I think. The only problem is that with all of that virgo loading each of their charts, they might drive each other crazy with how neurotic and skeptical they can be. They're both EXTREMELY level headed and would rather strategize than go head first into anything - and they find that sexy in each other. Another problem is that the guy might occasionally want a little bit more sexual variety than the girl is willing to handle. 

These two will attempt to outdo each other will who can be the most sensual. Emotionally, the woman might not understand him because the woman's sag moon says, "Worry about your feelings later," while the cancer moon says, "But all I do is FEEL in general!" 

She's going to charm the pants off of him because she'll seem impossible to catch without really trying. He'll want to try to wine and dine her because he respects her level headedness and probably thinks that she'd make a fantastic girlfriend. 

You want someone that's going to be more eccentric, quirky or fascinating than most of the population. You tend to get swept away by things very easily and your senses are very refined and you love it when you find the depth within all aspects of life. 

I'm sensing a LOT of compatibility between them because some of their placements intersect. The Leo Venus will understand the Leo Mars and how they act around each other may appear very synchronized. In love, he'll want to woo his partner and will drain half his bank account to see them happy. The Leo Mars is going to find that very sexy because they're naturally very passionate and can recognize that within people. 

A Gemini with a Taurus Moon, Mercury and a Gemini Mars makes someone very level headed about EVERYTHING. At times, you might be a bit too hot tempered for his test. Its in your nature to act first, think second because your emotions bounce around inside of you like a lit stick of dynamite ricocheting in a tight space. I think that you both might fight often because of that until you see that you can balance each other out. 

Since you're a mercurial pisces, you're also very subtle so you might occasionally give him the impression that you're passive aggressive and he won't understand this at first. It'll boggle his mind that a woman can have two completely different natures at once. The key here is to learn from each other.

This is someone who probably dedicates a section of their bank account to exploiting the newest, slickest and most daring sex toys. Ever see that image of tumblr where a school girl's tying her shoes and her reflection is of a punk grinning up at her as she buckles up her mosh boots? THIS is the uttermost definition of that kind of woman. We're going to steal the phrase - “Smeagol in the streets, Golem in the sheets...”

Well, not literally..thank god. In the traditional sense and for the sake of political correctness, the 7th house is known as the marriage house because its ruled by Libra and Libra governs everything legal and social relationships. If you combine them, you basically get the structure of marriage. The outer shell, the exoskeleton. Like Libra, its everything dealing with appearances. 

"Structure" is the word we're honing in on. Your 7th house out of the 12 you have represents the structure that you prefer to have in relationships. Whether its a power play or a relationship where you're the damsel in distress, the 7th governs the dynamic that you prefer. When you want to have an idea about what you're like in love, you look at your Venus, Mars and your 7th and 8th houses to start out with. Say another guy has a 7th house Cancer. We're presented with the "cancer" archetype. Meaning that this guy is going to want a partner who's - 

Nurturing, loving, caring and is a general mother figure

Who they see in a feminine, matriarchal light

7th house water signs think that marriage is as good as an oath written in blood. While 7th house pisceans look for more of a prince or princess figure in a mate, 7th house cancernarians will either look after their mates and portray a male-cancer or want a partner who protects THEM and portrays a female cancer.

Say a guy has a 7th House Pisces. In order to understand the relationship structure he prefers, you merge it with the Pisces archetype. Meaning that in a partner, they want someone who -
