But he will forever be defined by the love and unity he brought to us all. A humanitarian, a father, a brother, and a creative genius. No matter how famous he was, his humbleness and authenticity was always apparent. At his core, he was a man who strived to understand and to be understood. He was music and love personified. A once in a lifetime human being who is immortalized through his gifts and legacy. There will never be another. 🖤

dear michael,

i've spent all day trying to come up with the right words to correctly pay tribute to you and your image. you were a beautiful, incredible, humble, other-worldly, misunderstood person. it seems that so many people tend to forget that.

there are so many ways to describe you, but i think the most fitting word would be true. you were always true to yourself, your fans, and the world. you never failed to show love to everything and everyone, even if your actions were constantly horribly misinterpreted. you were truly a walking angel.

i still find it hard to believe you passed away seventeen years ago today, because it seems as if you're still everywhere all at once; physically, spiritually, and emotionally. you continue to inspire millions of people around the world and there is so much evidence that you were once here, walking in the same places that so many walk today. however, it pains me to remember that your beautiful soul has left us. hopefully, wherever you may be, you are resting with much more peace than what you were given during your time on earth.

all i truly wish to say, is that i'm sorry on behalf of how the world treated you. you deserved so much better than what you were given throughout your entire life. even though you went through extreme amounts of pain and hardships, you always managed to convert it into love and peace.
