i hope this doesnβt come across as rude in any way at all but i do feel like iβve kinda got to defend chikage in a way.
chikage has been made to believe that hisoka was at fault, that hisoka killed august. that the fact that his family had fallen apart was all because of hisoka - he knows nothing about what has happened. all he sees is someone he once called his brother living his best life after killing august.
now obviously chikage goes about his revenge plan completely the wrong way, but heβs filled with so much anger that hisoka is alive after supposedly killing august and sadness that august is no longer around. he wants hisoka to be alone, just how chikage has been alone since the incident happened. and the best way to chikage is to destroy the one place hisoka now calls home.
just because chikage is a good liar doesnβt necessarily mean heβs gonna know when someone else is lying, especially when heβs been forced to believe and has accepted that hisoka was the one at fault. when hisoka says he doesnβt remember, to chikage, whoβs still angry, that seems like an excuse.
again, iβm really not trying to be rude or mean at all!! and iβm also not defending what chikage did at all because it is wrong, but you do have to try and understand why chikage acted how he did.

Itβs totally fine LOL! I feel like half of the people on my post were either agreeing with me in the tags or saying what youβre saying anyway π
I feel like people are misunderstanding what I was trying to say, I was just answering the anonβs question on βwhat chikage didβ because in a previous post of mine I said something like, βGood thing heβs not telling the rest of Mankai what he did-!β (Not like a βwhy did chikage...?β, yβknow?)
Another is that I didnβt know the motivations (or emotions) behind his actions, I DO!! I truly do understand the reasons why Chikage felt and did the actions that he did (not to brag but I figured it out pretty quickly a little before the game explained stuff), I just didnβt add the reasons to the post to (A.) avoid more spoilers and just get to the juicy stuff the anon probs wanted and (B.) cause I just wanted to roast him and I like Hisoka a lot π
Itβs my own fault for that though due to my shitpost language, though I really appreciate the explanation of Chikageβs motivations in lettering! π
The βliarβ thing however is something Iβd generally want to debate (or like discuss with ppl in this fandom because, letβs be real, plot talks arenβt really a thing...?). Iβm assuming the organization had a lot of spying and secret missions, and thatβs why Chikage (to go along with his own issue obviously) is such a βnaturalβ actor π€
So, I still genuinely think he still shouldβve been able to tell Hisoka wasnβt lying at least about the memory!! But honestly, I could except the excuse that his judgement was clouded by the information the organization gave him/his own conflicting emotions or that Hisoka is just too blank-faced to tell most of the time π
Glad you agree what Chikage did was wrong as well, I mean... I feel most people do, even the cabbage simps π₯¬ I donβt even hate him, like heβs an interesting character- just still find him a bit π¬, which I suppose as I said is a personal opinion on whether or not he redeems himself by motivations/ending! But thank you for the explanations and the content, my dude π
