My young friend has a turntable and has accrued a sweet collection of LPs and many of them are the same ones I had when I was her age. I sold my collection long ago when it became difficult to buy turntables and everything was heading toward CDs.

I’ve been putting some of her old records. I realized I missed the ambient sounds that go along with that medium.

@losethehours that’s what my husband did and now does from home. He sells vinyl records. He had his own shop, but sold up when I got ill. He now runs an online business from our front room.

He’s always had a turntable, a very good one too. He has an extensive collection of his own. In fact that takes up another room. Thank goodness we’re childless!

There has been a true percentage increase of vinyl LPs sold recently after the CD downfall of the 1990’s.

Personally I love the smell of it too.

It’s on Discogs @pretty-vulture find him via google or your favourite search engine for ‘rothkoblackcat’ and you’ll find a link to his Discogs site and he’s got around 800 titles listed. He’s spent 40 years selling records it’s vital to both of us. Pays our mortgage!
