The end of ep 11 except Joe doesn’t stop Adam and Langa is.. less polite

Also I will be writing more of these and these do appear in my fic, though this is a lot more explicit (yes, a shameless plug)

Langa swears like a sailor, but exclusively in English. He will somehow slip in English swears into his Japanese without it sounding weird

He also swears in front of his mother (mostly when he hurts himself or does something dumb or messes up. Not swearing at his mother). The first time Reki hears Langa say fuck in front of his mother, he is convinced Langa had a death wish. Nanako does not care, as long as her son remains polite in front of others. Reki does not get used to it

Reki, however, does not swear.

Sure, he'll say things like shit and hell and ass, but never real swears. Only playground swears. And fuck is out of the question. Reki is a good big brother and he has the duty of being a good role model in some way. He's already a horrible influence when it comes to school and being careful, so if at least he can be good with his language, then so be it.

The first time Langa hears Reki say fuck, his heart nearly stops

They're at work and it's a slow, but really bad day. Reki was in a bad mood when he got there, looking a lot more tired than usual, his usual sunshine glow completely gone

Reki snaps when he drops a box of wheels on his foot, the first fuck (at least around Langa) escaping him, not that he seems to care that he just swore really loud

Langa freezes, almost dropping the pen he was holding. It's shocking to hear Reki swear. Also a little hot but sh. And he has no idea what he should do. Should he leave Reki alone or help him out?

He ends up cautiously approaching Reki to see if he's okay. It's like approaching a bomb just waiting to explode, but Langa can't think of anything else to do

Without warning, Reki falls into Langa's arm, face nuzzling into the crook of Langa's neck

Langa tenses. He feels his face burning up because Reki is so close. Reki is pressed against him. Reki is legit leaning into him. And Langa has no idea what to do

"What are you doing?" "Recharging. You're warm."

Langa is 100% gone at that point, but he does manage to hug Reki back. And they stand there, hugging, for a good 10 minutes until the door is chiming and someone is walking in and Reki is back to his cheery retail worker persona, greeting them, ready to help them.

Claire was furious. She drove up to the hospital, furious. She stood in the elevator, furious. She thought about tossing the most important men in her life out of a window as she walked down the hospital hall. Claire was furious.

She stood at the door the nurses had told her they’d be in. She stood there for a very long moment feeling scared of what she might see. Claire knew their type of work was dangerous. She just hoped they’d made it out of the fight intact.

She slowly opened the door and peeked in. She didn’t see anyone at first so she let herself in. It wouldn’t be the first time she’d seen either of them naked and it probably wouldn’t be the last. She set her purse down on a nearby sink counter before stepping into the center of the room. The blinds were closed and yet the light that did filter through bounced off his dingy mane of dirty blonde hair.

“Leon…” His name left her lips before she could even stop herself.

The man looked up groggily but as soon as he saw her face his gaze softened. “Hey…Redbird…”

oh yes absolutely!! 

i absolutely love how in the remake they both do what needs to be done but their attitudes about it are so different. Claire is all “I am tired of this! that asshole is going down!” and she’s full of confidence and justified anger and determination and she’s just so done and she doesn’t hesitate to let it show. she’s pissed off, she’s enraged that someone dares to do this, and she’s going to make damn sure that the threat is dealt with, goddamnit.

meanwhile Leon is there with his determination to do the right thing (which reminds me of a certain someone else and is a big reason for my rowboat of a rarepair 8D) and he absolutely will take care of the threat because this is what he wants to do, he wants to protect people, he wants to help, he wants to make a difference, but he’s at the same time kind of resigned about it. all “I’m gonna take care of this monster because if I don’t, no one else will. or worse yet, someone innocent will suffer for it!” so he does it.

i’m not sure if i make much sense but I just love how they’re written so differently from one another, how they’ve both been given distinct personalities, and approach things in different ways.

i do think the remake would’ve been 2974871 times better if they’d actually had them interact properly. like. i get it, they wanted two different stories, whatever. but i at least would’ve loved seeing them work together in some capacity at some point of the story. and it wouldn’t even have been that difficult to work in, story-wise.
