So I already covered them showing Kalem was following that account. But they also showed that two other friends were following the account: _mamajai (will be referring to as MJ) and benphanderson (will be referring to as Ben; can't be seen in the screenshot but its account under the pic of Hudson + friends).

As MJ is still a public account I decided to snoop around. It's important to note that MJ hasn't been active (or doesn't seem to have been) since their last post on that account. After going through their posts and their follower + following list, it became clear that they were following duo accounts (so yes 'thebakers_1' account was real and was followed by the three friends), and that's because MJ is also a duo account!

Let me explain. Duo accounts is basically a trend that was happening amongst the youth at the time (2016). It's essentially making a spam account with a friend and you just post whatever. These were teenagers making these accounts, not some grand mastermind that knew in ten years, this would be relevant to an actor from a gay hockey romance TV show. So keeping that in mind that these were again, teenagers, what gave the duo account trend away? A pattern in the usernames of the account. Quite literally, the duo account usernames are just a mash up of the names of the individuals in the ‘duo’. So MJ? Yes, it is a combination of the names of the girls who owe that account.

And here are other examples of duo accounts (with such obvious names) and the individual accounts for the duos. All paired except for fifi (It’s nice that Canada’s got really good privacy laws.. so I’ve heard).

Bringing us to ‘thebakers_1’, if this is suppose to be Hudson’s duo account, why doesn’t it follow the same naming convention? Clearly no one was going out of their way to be different or creative. Did Hudson and whoever else owed this account just felt like being different? Doubt it! So I started searching ‘bakers’ in MJ's following list. Because there has to be a ‘baker’ individual account to accompany the duo, ‘thebakers_1’. And I know the individual account had to still be there because MJ’s following count has only changed by 1 (127 -> 126). And it has stayed this way this ever since the screenshots came out (more on this later).

Searching for ‘baker’ gave this account: bakerbobi. Okay, it matches the naming convention, because there’s baker in an individual account.

So then I thought, okay it did say ‘thebakers_1’ plural. Did that mean there are two Bakers? So then I went back to Kalem’s account and found 4 accounts by searching ‘Baker’ in his following list, including 'Bakerbobi". I was able to quickly deduce that the other 3 were not the second ‘Baker’ I was looking for. Remember these are teenagers doing a trend. They all follow each other creating this little paper trail / web of connection. So out of the three likely ‘baker’s (highly doubt a verified account of an older woman was participating in this trend), only one of them has the follow from MJ and other duo accounts: Bakerbobi.

(I feel a bit terrible abut not blocking out the pfp's and part of their names here, so please don't harass them, this is just for the purpose of getting clarity)

It did take me a bit, to be honest, to peace together why I was not finding this other Baker. Baker #2 had to exist, if ‘thebakers_1’ was a duo account. So I started looking more closely at which account in the following list of all these other accounts was also a part of this paper trail/ web. Basically, what other accounts are MJ, Kalem, BakerBobi, and other public duo accounts following?

I included BakerBobi because I noticed that duo accounts will follow the accounts of the individuals in the duo. Screenshot below.

And not only do the duo account follow each individual account, the solo accounts will follow each other! (And duh! They’re friends). So BakerBobi had to follow their duo pair. And as I kept cross referencing (basically just seeing which profile picture kept showing up in different following lists), the one I kept seeing consistently was: momahbobi. An account that clearly was part of the friendship web / paper-trail! Momahbobi.

Zoomed in on the profile picture of BakerBobi, and it clicked that Bakerbobi is not a solo account. It’s the duo! ("we made it" in the bio). Momahbobi is ‘Bobi’, so who the is ‘Baker’?

Reminder that BakerBobi was the only ‘Baker’ I could find connected to the paper trail. And then I remembered the account that was deleted…..’thebakers_1’. So not only does Bakerbobi follow the naming convention (again, they’ve all been pretty straightforward), it also follows the 'duo follows individual accounts' pattern. So we have Bakerbobi following Momahbobi (due to this account being private, I can’t check who Momahbobi follow but this is enough for me).

This just shows again that Momahbobi is part of the paper trail (thanks MJ). And that while Bakerbobi is complying with the other duo accounts in following it's individual owners, there are no individual account found for 'Baker' in Bakerbobi's following list.

Seems pretty simple to me. But not wanting to leave any stone unturned, I wanted to see if it was possible find a personal IG account for Baker from Bakerbobi. Maybe the personal account didn't want BakerBobi to follow them anymore? After more digging and I was able to find a VSCO account for a Gray baker. Seems very generic, could be anyone. Except that they’ve reposted a Momahbobi. And when I searched the IG handle in their bio, nothing came up.

So at last, I have found “the original duo”. Bakerbobi!

So 'thebakers_1' account couldn’t have been Hudson’s, despite the profile picture. Because, as the account demonstrated by taking its time deactivating, a profile picture can easily be changed.

However, you can only change your username on IG a max of 2 times within 14 days. Remember that a hudcon ('allegedly', I don't know, that's what the account who posted the screenshot said) provided a screenshot that they knew of the IG account on April 26.

That gave them enough time to change the username the max allotted number of changes. Change 1: [Original username] -> “thebakers_1” (this is my guess)

Change 2: “thebakers_1” -> “beepboopbopbopbeepboopboop”.

Which by the way is a reference to Hudson’s pronounciation of bibimbap.

Okay that’s it for: I don't buy that the account was related to Hudson. If anyone was going to be in a duo with Hudson, it would have been Kalem. And giving that everyone else followed the same naming convention, I’m sure their duo account would have been a mashing of their names. Not “thebakers_1” which was easily found to be linked to an actual duo account.

[Rapid Fire Q&A]

Who is Luis? That is one of Hudson's HS friends. I have no idea if they are the other person in the profile picture with Hudson. I don't think it matters though because profile pictures can be changed anytime. It's the username of the account that's relevant.

So was 'thebakers_1' a duo or a solo? If it was a solo why the plural? My hunch is that "thebakers_1" was an account that belonged to a single individual. But somehow it started posing as a duo account just in time for people on twitter to get some screenshots framing Hudson to be a co-owner of this account.

Okay but his friends were following the account and it was made in 2016? Yes, I believe that this account was a real account that belonged to an individual in Hudson's social circle. I don't know how close this person was to Hudson but for teenagers, it's really not hard to start mapping out who's in their social circles base on their following on social media. That 'thebakers_1' was an old account and that it was followed by Hudsons's friends would have been the perfect set up. Because it's all linked to him, yes. Except, they didn't think about the finer details, whoever set it up.

Okay so what does this mean? Why was the profile changed? Who's behind it? That I don't know. I don't have receipts for anything regarding that. Who's being the scenes etc. I just have my tinfoil hat based on the 7 months of pure hell being part of this fandom has been. It's a pattern for sure, but again, I don't have anything other than what I've #noticed.

A little bonus, Hudson’s finsta is clearly part of the friendship web (followed by MJ and another duo account). He doesn’t follow any duo accounts from his finsta (but there are some individual accounts he does follow). BakerBobi does not follow _heyyyguys__. It's clear that some of these duo account still follow Hudson and he's fine with it (the concept for having a private account with >1K followers...Hudson please!). And Bakerbobi and MJ follow a lot of the same duo and individual accounts. Make of this was you will.

Since today, Saturday, hudson’s finsta became suddenly relevant, let’s talk aboout such a glaring omission on Thursday, when they set up the leaked the screenshot of 'thebakers_1'.

Again, this account shared screenshots of MJ and Ben following ‘thebakers_1’. "More friends" indeed.

And you can see they posted a photo of Hudson. And there’s a tagged icon. As people who wanted others to believe that Hudson was definitely close to the people behind these accounts (MJ and Ben), why not show the tagged accounts in the screenshot?? (Is it maybe because the person who took them knew what account would show up? and that would have made this screenshot worse *for* them instead of more damning for Hudson?)

Because guess what I did. I went to MJ, found the post, and clicked on the damn tag to see which account was tagged. And wow, it was Hudson’s finsta.

Which they conveniently did not bring up or address AT ALL on Thursday. When it would have definitely made sense to do so when ‘thebakers_1’ was still active! But instead, they waited until today, Saturday, after ‘thebakers_1’ was deactived, to bring up the finsta's following count, in the hopes that their doctored screenshots would support their claim of “thebakers_1” being his account. Well guess what? I’ve been taking screenshots of his account since Thursday and the following has been the same! Even as after 'thebakers_1' deactivated and the glitched on IG was fixed. And even if the following count had changed, why not bring up that Hudson's finsta was tagged on THURSDAY.

Another thing I want to point out about that screenshot. Hudson’s comment. Hudson’s COMMENT! Comments from private accounts can still be read even if you don’t follow the account. Comments from private accounts have TIMESTAMPS. The comment in that screenshot irrefutably dates Hudson to being active on that account 433 weeks ago. Yes?

Okay so for ‘thebakers_1’. It is private, yes? But you can still read comments left by private accounts. ‘thebakers_1’ followed by: Kalem, MJ, and Ben. All public when ‘thebakers_1’ was active. Are you expecting me to believe that no one, in the two weeks that they knew about ‘thebakers_1’, combed through the posts across THREE public accounts to see, hey did ‘thebakers_1’ leave a comment anywhere? Because ‘thebakers_1’ is suppose to be Hudson’s duo account. Hudson comments on his solo account so why wouldn’t he comment or have some sort of activity from the duo account? Could it be that, there probably were comments from ‘thebakers_1’ and most likely under their original name because ‘thebakers_1’ is not a duo! Also, comments carry timestamps.

If I was #them, I actually would have left comments in that two weeks window or told whoever was behind ‘thebakers_1’ to do that. Because it would have made it more believable for this account to be aware of when they got exposed (the same night!) if they had been recently active.

This brings me back to, remember what I said about MJ. That this entire time, the only change in their account has been their following count decreasing by 1. This account was exposed in the leak. It's public. I’ve snooped through it left and right, followed and unfollowed, and re-followed. And nothing. MJ has no fucking idea what’s going on. And that’s to be expected because the account is a fucking spam account they made a DECADE ago. They have their own individual accounts, and I imagine that’s the account they would have notifications on for. Out of all three friend accounts that were exposed, only MJ has done nothing. Kalem was responding to DM's and he turned off his comments. And Ben made his account private some time Friday morning. MJ remains the same as it was.

Certo sono sicura che questo tema non può interessare a tutti, ma il compito di skam è sempre stato eliminare stigma che si hanno intorno a determinati concetti. E da quando è uscita la stagione, ho letto di ragazze con vaginismo che hanno trovato conforto nel vedere che non erano sole nel trovare difficoltà in rapporti sessuali, ho letto di ragazzi trans che trovano conforto nel vedere sul loro schermo che non sono gli unici a fare packing, e se un ragazzo di 14 anni con la stessa condizione di Elia trova coraggio nella sua storia, allora non ne è valsa la pena?

Che tra l’altro a questo argomento hanno collegato anche il body shaming, dando spazio anche al personaggio di Federica, alla quale i vostri adorati ragazzi main hanno sempre affibbiato un soprannome non carino. È buono portare rispetto a chi non si conosce, ma ancora di più a chi è amico stretto non credete?

Certo non credo che la stagione sia perfetta, il rapporto col padre poteva essere sviluppato meglio, l’incidente stradale è stato più tosto in utile. Va bene se non vi è piaciuta la stagione, ma credo che a chiamarla inutile o blanda, non sia vero.

both jinah and jeongin were raised to be as passive as possible, to an unhealthy and dangerous degree. you can see all the pressure they're under, the constant scrutiny and overall toxicity. are they flawed? yes. they can be selfish and both of them admit to that. i don't think they're perfect either. but i believe they are an extraordinary example of how society is constantly punishing women for daring to be something else, for daring to challenge the status quo.

jinah is villainized throughout the entire series for trying to expose the harassment female employees face in the company and (spoiler), justice isn't served. she doesn't have a happy ending where everyone suddenly is supportive of her. she's transferred to another branch, silenced.

we see that same oppressive system play in one spring night, through the sisters' respective, individual stories. the older one who was manipulated emotionally (forced) to marry young and has to struggle with an abusive husband, and when she finally dares to take the step and file a divorce, every man in her lives tries to convince her not to, not even her mom takes her decision seriously until she realizes the man might have been hurting her. jeongin who always felt the pressure to be as good of a daughter as her older sister and was ready to settle into an unhappy life in the name of being what her dad expected from her. and the youngest sister who's deemed a mess for simply not fitting into the mold.

^ this framing by the director screams both “how could you do this to me porsche” AND “oh hmm can i make this into a situation where i make tawan and the bodyguards believe i think porsche is the mole, so the real mole and vegas will make a move or a mistake”

^ “babe don’t worry i trust you, read my eyes, RECEIVE MY TELEPATHY PORSCHE IT’LL BE FINE”

^ “okay tawan is on the HOOK”

^ and the biggest evidence!!!! he doesn't answer his dad when he asks him what he thinks, and just says this!!!

So what Kinn did was fucking dumb as hell and I'll always be part of the Porsche Protection Possie. But Kinn has a plan.

Now I know Kinn was already feeling off ever since he saw Porsche with Vegas, particularly since he suspects Vegas. So he was genuinely hurt and pissed at Porsche for his little surveillance stunt (take notes, Pete). Now Porsche and Tawan (dumb bitch- derogatory) put him in a bind.

People are aware someone is making a move on Kinn and the main family. They are aware of who Tawan is plus what he's done, and they are aware there is a mole (well at least Big and the Musketeers are).

So Kinn (angry and distrustful) has only a few choices;

He can lie, claim he ordered Porsche to bug the room and/or follow them. Tawan will see through that and can use it against him.

He can give Porsche a lenient punishment; that's not going to go down well with any of the other bodyguards when there's already high suspicion. (Plus Papa Korn approves)

So he expresses his anger, retreats to becoming the cruel prince and punishes Porsche. But I think he came up with a quick plan.

Let Tawan think that he's won. Lull him in a false sense of security and let him expose himself. Hence asking his dad to trust him (and Papa Korn knows it's not Porsche)

I think that he plans to tell Porsche later what his plan is and make it right with him as he says.

Now I think that whatever his plan is, Porsche doesn't know like Korn Kinn is playing the game here and using Porsche as a piece to lower his enemies' defences. If is (most likely) Vegas, his interest in Porsche will come handy.

But it's gonna backfire; Porsche will think Kinn doesn't trust him or love him and that's gonna cause the rift that will lead to this scene.

So, basically, I was confused as to why fans seem to view episode 8 as “filler” because it felt anything but. I’ve also noticed that a lot of the people saying that seem to mostly be straight and I find that pretty telling tbh. I also don’t mean this in a “hate the straighties” way. More so how it shows that perception can influence the way some people view certain things. People have been saying that this ep was silly and too fluffy or too sweet like, yeah, you’re missing the ENTIRE point here.

A lot of us who are queer, especially those of us who grew up before the mid 2000’s when just the word “gay” was a slur, know too well how we’re not always allowed to experience the same romantic and sexual milestones that most straight people do, until later in life. Porsche has never been in a relationship and more importantly, he’s never been attracted to a man (or at least maybe never allowed himself to acknowledge it due to societal norms making it seem like being queer is an anomaly) and I think it’s important to show that it can look very juvenile on the surface. Straight people are encouraged to explore that at a young age. They don’t have to deny themselves when it comes to discovering the joys of young love. There’s a shy innocence to their interactions for a reason and I think a lot of us love this episode so much because it speaks to our experiences. We GET it.

Porsche has never felt this way about anyone and I think it feels a bit euphoric for him. He’s caught up in the passion, and even though he’s had sex in the past, he’s obviously never felt it on this level before. He’s literally in awe of Kinn and how Kinn makes him feel. He’s never felt this because for some reason it looks like he’s never let anyone in. So right now he’s still trying to process his emotions while simultaneously being completely thrown out of his element and that can be really scary and confusing.

It’s awkward to show affection when you don’t know how or you’re not sure what’s accepted and what’s not and because of that, a lot of things can get lost in translation. Then you add on the layer of their dynamic and that makes it even more complicated. Kinn is still his boss and he’s going to have to navigate those boundaries a little differently. Things that are unacceptable have worse consequences than just upsetting your partner, and Kinn, due to his own understandable issues with trust, has proven to be a little unpredictable with his reactions regarding his feelings and treatment of Porsche in the past.

This is why I feel Porsche sought advice in the first place. It’s a bit out of character for him which is exactly why his closest loved ones knew immediately what was up. It’s also why on the date, he seemed to follow a checklist. A guideline. It’s why he was observing what the people around him were doing before he acted. He wants to love Kinn openly but he has literally no idea how to do that.

Others have brought up Porsches internalized homophobia and while maybe partly true, I see him more uncomfortable with how people will respond to them more so than his own fear of being queer. I think he’s mostly accepted that within himself at this point. Him letting go of Kinns hand had nothing to do with internalized issues but more so about how we live in a world where it can still be dangerous to be affectionate in public and it’s even more of a gamble to draw attention considering who they are. I also appreciated how Kinn grabbed his hand back like “no baby I got you. We’re in this together and fuck what anyone thinks” and I think Porsche really needed that reassurance.

I feel this is so important with not just their relationship but character development as a whole and I kind of find it insulting that people view it as a throw away because dear God, it’s so fucking important to show this. It was so incredibly important to me.

It’s also important for the progression of the story. It’s setting everything up for the hell that is about to come especially with regard to Tawan. He is going to get in between KP with his manipulation and KP need to have a somewhat solid foundation if they’re going to survive the turmoil they’re about to face. They’re learning to communicate in a more healthy way which is IMPORTANT because they’ll lose each other if they don’t. So to me, episode 8 doesn’t even fit the “filler episode” definition. Just because you don’t enjoy something doesn’t make it useless.

I want to talk about this so much but it’s so multifaceted that I’d have to write a novel just to get my thoughts written down. I also didn’t mean for this to get THIS LONG but I just started writing and it all came pouring out so, sorry for that. Everything about this show has me in a chokehold. I think I need to go frolic in a field or something…

Ok let's dive in. So I should say first off that I have literally skipped every negative post in the tag. Like Kinnporsche is my happy place so I immediately skip more negative criticism. Totally fine with people saying whatever they want to say, I just don't need it harshing my vibe. So I can't speak to any of that as I truly (happily) have no idea what people are saying apart from the gist given to me by anons.

What I do want to say is how much I relate to and agree with what you said about seeing the queer experience as a happy experience on screen - showing those joys as you say. Because YES! The idea of romantic and sexual milestones being shown in something other than a heterosexual context is for sure (thankfully) something we’re seeing more of on screen, but I think it is easy to lose sight of how long that has taken and rare it still is. It’s also so rare to see the fluff WITH the sex. Gay fluff has been allowed for a lot longer (see: Will & Grace, Modern Family, etc). It’s sanctioned as long as it remains sexless aka palatable to straight audiences. The other alternative has been shows like Queer as Folk which intentionally embraced - or more accurately proudly and unapologetically presented the audience with the SEX. To see the two combined in a way that not only works but is so authentically and poignantly given - without the requisite ‘tragedy’ which is the cornerstone of much queer media (not a criticism as I love plenty of those stories but it is a reality) - is so much more rare. And it’s even rarer that content like this is given room to breathe. I can’t tell you how happy and impressed I am that KinnPorsche allowed this for longer than one scene. They trusted in their ability to drive the story forward with an episode that concentrated on character and relationship development vs pure plot (and agreed btw, this was pivotal character development and that isn’t filler). 

I personally thrive on character driven stories - when the plot serves the characters. When it’s the alternative, a plot driven story, I often find the characters get lost in servicing that storyline and end up feeling wedged into a story the writers want to tell (vs. a story that comes about as a result of characters choices). I don’t know if that makes sense but I definitely see the difference in a show like kinnporsche vs a lot of others that have pissed me off in recent years. 

I love hearing your observations about Kinn and Porsche. I literally want to quote everything you said but I am trying to control myself. It’s such a beautiful and delicate thing to see Porsche like this. We learned SO MUCH MORE about him this episode - about how he loves and how he loves Kinn specifically. He’s figuring it out and it’s important we see that too - especially because it will be incredibly relevant to everything that comes after this when shit gets rough. I also wholeheartedly agree when you said Porsche was uncomfortable about people’s reactions and not being in a relationship with a man. That’s another thing I loved in this episode that I feel they handled so subtly and well. It didn’t become a point of angst but they acknowledged it all the same. 

“I also appreciated how Kinn grabbed his hand back like “no baby I got you. We’re in this together and fuck what anyone thinks” and I think Porsche really needed that reassurance.” LISTEN. The way you just came for my heart saying that 😭😭😭. EXACTLY. Kinn has more experience in every way and this was a moment Porsche really needed that strong confidence in a partner. I really love pairings where one partner can be the strength and comfort when the other needs it. This was such a quick and quiet moment but it spoke volumes. A lot of people have talked about the power dynamics between these two and I think a part of that are these moments of strength. It swings back and forth between them in various moments through the show - when the other has a chance to be the ‘strong’ one (I don’t mean that in a purely physical context but yes sometimes that too) and I think that will continue. As I’ve said before, they both need an equal partner and they’ve found that in one another. I couldn’t agree more that it’s important to see and incredibly meaningful. I suppose everyone comes to media like this with different expectations and there will always be criticism as a result (because expectations will never be the same) but I am very thankful that the writers of this show seem to recognize the value of creating fully realized characters. 

I love how fiercely you spoke about the importance of what we saw this episode, and the importance of seeing the joy and happy milestones in this relationship between Kinn and Porsche. I think a lot of writers rely on high scale drama and tragedy to drive a plot forward (as quite frankly, it’s easier to do so), and certainly we’re going to have that, but it’s a lot more rare to allow a plot and the characters to breathe for a moment. And in doing so it allows that room for the joy that will make the pain so much more palpable and so much more effective. What they’ve done so far with the season makes a hell of a lot of sense to me. The season has felt very balanced so far (which is a damn hard thing to do btw when you’re balancing romance with angst with humour with drama) and I give them major props for that. I really can’t wait to see where we go from here. 

We see all this beautiful color and it's crazy, comedic and fabulous, but what isn't it saying?

Porsche admitted to being in love to Yok, Jom and Tem despite his fears. He even says "you and I are in love" to Kinn.

But you know who is silent this whole episode? Kinn. He asks "about us?" But what did he say that remotely match Porsche on that level?

Everything was hilarious and cute but nothing is really set in true foundations and while we need to see them so happy and goofy, it's set up for the inevitable cracks. Ones that Tawan will worm his way into because he's been creepy stalking Porsche not Kinn this whole episode.

Um, we have to see them both utterly besotted with each other, in love with each other, being dorky, and carefree and innocent with each other. Because this episode gives no doubt to how they feel about one another; Porsche said it very clearly ‘you and I are in love.’ We need to see that otherwise, what’s the point of the series? Why should we care at all for two random f*ckbuddies with no intimacy. We need to care about their relationship and see that they are made for each other and that only they can give each other what’s missing in their lives; love, intimacy, happiness, adventure etc. 

This is episode was not filler - it was essential! Essential to see them in a relationship and to show, when the shit hits the fan, what they will be fighting for. 

Letting Porsche be unsure about how to handle dating a man versus dating a woman but also not hesitating about it is great. They did a fantastic job balancing the insecurity of trying something new with the fact that he is an adult and open to this and wants this even if he doesn't quite know how to handle it.

And having Porsche's insecurities flare up when the date didn't go exactly as he hopes? The way he instantly apologized and assumed it wasn't good because of a single mistake? Also speaks to him learning and figuring this out and realizing that love is just love and for all that he seeks love and pleasure now he can actually start to understand what he's seeking.
