Prologue- “Welcome to Rosas”
Once upon a time; the stars graced the sky and granted every wish they came across, until one day…
Then, one by one, the stars disappeared from the sky, ashamed of what their magic had caused.
But from that tragedy; a kingdom rose into prosperity through its commitment to the stars teachings of Duty and Devotion. The Two D’s.
Their Kingdom came into a golden age, followed by a second far greater than the first! Their Kings and Queens became the first mortals to grant Wishes like the Stars before!!
And as the years passed; the people began to forget why they bothered with the stars in the first place…
The skyline was a clear crystal blue as the morning settled into its familiar groove in the town below. The tall ivory towers of the Palace of Rosas rose to greet it as the sun shined through the balcony window of the third tallest tower in the Palace. The shelves of the room were lined with books and books and more books, the floor filled with scattered pages of history.
Then, a small baby black goat hopped onto the bed, little hooves sliding against the sheets as he trotted over to the still sleeping figure buried beneath the covers.
He bleated quietly, then again a little louder and nudging the figure with his tiny horns.
“Mmmm, Cabby…five more minutes…” muttered the person underneath the blue and purple patterned blanket. The little goat bleated louder, right in her ear, and the figure threw the blanket off of them and sat up in bed.
“Ugh! Cabby!!” Groaned the figure, a sixteen year old girl with cornrows of deep midnight brown hair pulled into a thick ponytail, toasted tan skin with dollops of freckles on her cheeks and vibrant blue eyes.
The baby goat bleated and gestured to the clock on the wall.
“Oh Filament! The morning tour!! Father’s going to be disappointed if I’m not on time!” She exclaimed as she hopped out of bed and quickly threw on her dress and kicked off her slippers and slid into her Royal Blue flats.
She rushed out the door, Cabby hopping along at her heels as they weaved through servants and butlers and the like.
“Good morning Your Highness!”
“Good morning Your Highness!”
She races out the palace doors and down the steps, nearly losing her shoe before passes the courtyard where the people are setting up for the Wish Ceremony taking place at dawn.
“Good Morning Princess Asha!”
She ducks and weaves all the way to the shipyard; seeing a small crowd of people from what seemed like Spain! Wonderful! Her parents were from Spain as well! Well, her mother was a Spanish native and her father was born and raised in Rosas. But still!!
“Hi! I’m here- I’m here I’m here-“ Asha exclaimed out of breath as she skidded to a stop in front of the group, Cabby bumping into her ankles from behind. “Oof.”
“Welcome to Rosas! I’m Princess Asha De Estrellas and I’ll be your tour guide!!”
And you’ll see that we radiate creativity!”
Or Grow Flowers up to your knees!”
“Chart the skies and space!
Well you’ve come to the right place!!”
All your wanting becomes wishing
No ifs or ands, just ever afters!
There’s always something new to discover!”
The tour passes by a large statue of the King and Queen, with his royal sorcerer’s staff and a rose in the Queen’s hand.
“Oh! That’s my father, King Magnifico!
He became king of Rosas a long time ago!
He’s strong and wise and powerful!
And he’s the greatest sorcerer in the whole world!”
As Asha leads the crowd through the streets, the town is blooming with royal colors and the Queen’s favorite flowers; White Roses!
One of which was currently almost eaten by Cabby before Asha picks him up. “You’ll find them everywhere! Mama loves them almost as much as my Father!”
All your wanting becomes wishing
No ifs or ands, just ever afters!
There’s always something new to discover!”
Asha stops the tour at the stage where the Wish Ceremony occurs every month, the two thrones of her parents in perfect center position. White Roses were in bunches along the stage and the royal colors of wish blue and ivory white and the symbol of the kingdom was embroidered everywhere.
“Oh! And when you come of age! Give my dad your wish and
he’ll keep it safe! He’ll cherish and guard it with his life until he decides you’ve been faithful enough for your greatest desire!”
“Oh no, it’s like a weight lifting off your chest!”
All your wanting becomes wishing
No ifs or ands, just ever afters!
Asha looks at the large clock tower in the distance and her eyes widen as she realizes that it’s almost time for the Greatest Day of Her Entire Life.
“Ah! I’m sorry everyone but I’m running late! I hope you enjoy Rosas! We have a Wishing Ceremony tonight and it’ll answer all your questions!! Goodbye!!”
Asha runs away, flats hitting the cobblestone as Cabby trots behind her with rapid speed.
Today will Change Everything… Asha thought to herself excitedly.
