HISTORY. The Tams were rich, that’s saying something. River growing up was very close to her brother, Simon. The two would chose each other over their friends any day and while their connection may seem odd to some, it was with each other that they found the love their parents never truly gave them. They cared for one another.  River was smart. Too smart for her own age. When she was three, she began to correct her elder brother’s spelling.  The family would often vacation in China, where Simon found his love of medicine. River was happy for him, he deserved something to be passionate about. And it seemed to put her parents in good spirits. However, when River got accepted into a school for talented youths? She was excited. With her parents’ blessing and Simon’s encouragement, the youngest left for the school.  When she arrived, it seemed normal, everything she dreamed of---- but then it violently changed. They did---- terrible things to her. Surgery after surgery---- training---- torture. It was all too much to bare. When she did get to write letters, she would send them to Simon. A message. Her brother was smart, he’d figure it out.  And it only took him two years to. When he found her, River was no longer the little sister he remembered. They told Simon that she was sold to pay a debt--- but that wasn’t all of it. They wanted her for different reasons. Her brother in all his rage killed her capturers. Days of screaming, she could feel them through her whole being. And she found--- that she enjoyed the way he worked. His skill.  The two found themselves in Star City, and Simon got a job. Of course, River was told to stay out of sight. But River just had to know why he was going off into the night. That’s when she walked into the office of the TITAN himself.
