In 23 days, I’ll no longer be a teenager. The days of angst have to come to an end. Yet I find myself running around in subconscious circles over the minuscule details of my life. Coming out as transgender has been the best thing I have ever done for myself. On the daily, I continue to come out of the closet. I have this feeling as if I’m out, yet some how left hanging. Feeling like I always need to attain more, or be something bigger. My best friend keeps me grounded. Art keeps me sane. And introspection is important. This project portrays a mixture of the minuscule ideas and concepts that run around my mind. Hopefully one day, instead of running in circles, I’ll be able to sprint in any direction I please.

Feeling so good these days

This is a project series titled “Callow Youth” for my fine art class. Sometimes it’s easy to be consumed by what we’re feeling at any given moment. The events that take place in our lives shape who we are. It’s so easy to judge someone without having even the slightest clue of what they have been through or are currently going through. Through this project, I’m trying to show that sometimes our heads are in the clouds and that’s okay. Maybe we’ve hit a brick wall but we’ll find a way to climb over it. It may seem impossible to get over a past relationship or loss of a friend but this world is filled with amazing people. Essentially, this project puts personalized emotions into pictures. Always remember to look a little harder and think a little deeper. People will surprise you.
