    “Yeah? ….Feel like changin’ that?”

    “’Re we bein’ horny now? This th’ right time ta ask fer a dickin’?”

      “  i’m  not  –  it’s  not  about  betrayal,  sergei.  ”  he’s  tempted  to  pull  away  from  sergei’s  touch,  but  keegan’s  always,  always  been  weak  to  that  touch,  and  he  finds  himself  leaning  closer  to  sergei’s  warmth  instead,  despite  himself.  “  they’ve  already  tried  to  have  you  killed  more  than  once.  you  would  be  more  vulnerable  there  than  you  would  be  here,  surrounded  by  loyal  men  who  would  protect  you.  ” 

      when  did  he  start  worrying  about  other  people  like  this  ?  he  laces  their  fingers  together,  pulls  sergei  in  a  little  closer.  “  i  don’t  give  a  shit  what  sphinx  thinks.  sphinx  has  no  say  in  this  matter.  if  you  will  go  either  way,  then  so  shall  i.  you  can’t  get  away  from  me  so  easily,  sergei  volkov.  ”

Sergei wants to say that he doesn’t need protecting—but really, he knows he’s going to have to live the rest of his life on edge. This will make things worse, ultimately, but he has a duty to fulfill. “I know; I know. I’m sorry.” He closes his eyes and forces the tears to not fall. He may never be able to see his mother again, but even being close to his childhood home would feel meaningful. 

      “  someone  else  ?  do  you  really  think  that  of  me  ?  ”  he  doesn’t  even  want  to  look  sergei  in  the  face  right  now.  the  idea  –  the  very  thought  –  no  one  else  holds  his  interest  the  same  way  sergei  does.  well,  that’s  not  entirely  true.  he  can’t  stop  thinking  about  his  uncle  and  mantis  –  he’d  dreamed  of  being  a  supervillain  in  his  own  right,  but  .  .  .  the  dream  was  not  complete  without  his  uncle’s  approval. 

      “  i  have  never  wanted  someone  the  way  i  want  you.  you  are  not  the  problem.  ”  and  damn  if  keegan  doesn’t  hate  to  admit  that  he’s  wrong,  he’s  the  source  of  what’s  going  wrong.  “  it’s  me;  i’m  the  problem.  fuck.  ”

      he  rubs  at  his  forehead,  blows  out  a  harsh  breath.  “  this  has  been  my  dream  for  half  my  life,  and  it’s  missing  the  one  person  i  could  not  picture  it  without. ”

“Keegan—” He takes in air sharply. He did not expect that response. In fact, he doesn’t know what he was expecting, but it wasn’t that. Sergei rubs his own forehead for a moment, wondering what exactly was the best thing to say “I’m sorry.” Until they find bodies, he knows Keegan will never accept the fact that Sphinx is dead.

    “Well, I sure haven’t seen you ‘round before. Come ‘ere often?” Hands rest on the back of a bench. His legs crossed, a flirtatious smile on his lips. “Need any help findin’ anythin’, maybe? Or someone?”  / @lovedefect​ asked for NOAH.

      “  i’m  quite  sure  both  of  those  things  are  strenuous  activity,  yes.  ”  keegan  knows  the  bastard  knows  exactly  what  he’s  doing,  sprawled  out  in  his  full  glory  like  that,  with  that  stupid  smug  smirk  on  his  face.  and  it  pisses  keegan  off  to  know  it’s  working,  coupled  with  the  filthy  words  falling  from  his  lover’s  lips.  “  you  are  very  tempting,  as  always,  my  darling.  so  very  tempting.  i  still  won’t  be  riding  you  until  you’re  at  least  not  looking  like  you’ve  been  hit  by  a  truck.  ”

“I did. Couldn’t get my mind off of you.” Sergei murmurs, gently taking Keegan’s hands and kissing both of them. “But—it’s not like I let myself come.” It’s torturous, in a way, how Keegan is always on his mind no matter what he does. This has never happened to him before. He’s had lovers before, but when he was working he rarely thought about them. Now, with Keegan, he thinks about him all the time.

It’s sweet.

It might just get him killed one day.

“I like to save myself for you.” He presses a line of kisses to Keegan’s throat and only stops to sink his teeth into the sensitive flesh. It’s low enough so that no one will notice when Keegan is fully dressed. Sergei isn’t stupid. He’s not going to play with fire and risk having Sphinx feed him to sharks. “I want you, Keegan. More than anything or anyone in the world.” He lifts Keegan up by the hips and carries him over to the bed, sets him down and straddles him.

“I’ll say it again—I still love you. No matter how distant you get.” Maybe Sergei has felt a little unwanted lately; maybe Sergei has felt as if he can’t do anything to help Keegan. Mantis & Sphinx’s disappearances. . .well. Sergei was quite sure they were dead, but if it gave Keegan hope, even if it was false, he’d still keep looking. “I’m just. . .fuck, I’m lonely Keegan.” 

“It’s a demand out of necessity.” He’s quiet, can’t quite manage to meet Keegan’s infuriated gaze. “My mom is sick, Keegan. I’m not demanding to go back to Russia for laughs.” He rubs his prosthetic arm, scowling. “She won’t even want to be taken care of by a traitor, but at the very least I can set up a carer for her. Make sure to minimize her suffering. She’s too stubborn to go to a home. She’ll die at home. She always planned to, after she retired.”
