I woke up the next morning content. No alarms, no disruptions, no interruptions. I felt arms wrap around me and pull me into a chest. I smile and curl into Jack’s arms.
“Good morning beautiful.” A voice whispered into my ear. It was NOT Jack. My eyes shot wide open as memories of last night flooded into my brain his lips on my neck, my hands trailing into… I think i’m going to be sick. I shot out of bed and bolted down to the bathroom, before emptying my stomach into the bowl.
“Are you okay?” He asked as he swung into the bathroom.
“What’s wrong?” He whispered as his fingers moved my hair out of my face.
“What happened last night? Did we sleep together? Oh my god.” I cried while covering my face with my hands.
“Relax babe, we didn’t sleep together. We kissed, and then I sent you off to bed.” He muttered. I let out a sigh of relief, kissing him isn’t good but it’s better than sleeping with him.
“Can you take me home please? Thank you for letting me stay here but I need to go home.” I said. He nodded disappointedly and grabbed my duffle from the guest room.
The ride home was silent. His thumbs tapped on the steering wheel as an old metal song played quietly on the radio. Once we got to the house, I thanked Michael once again and stumbled out and into the house, a sleep deprived Jack meeting my stare as soon as the door shut.
“Where the fuck have you been? Do you not understand how worried fucking sick i’ve been?” He spat.
“I was with Michael.” I answered quietly. He rose one eyebrow.
“Oh, the baby is probably his.” He facetiously laughed.
“Why are you being like this? What has been up with you lately?” I said. He immediately broke out into tears.
“I made you so upset and I’m sorry for accusing you of sleeping with other people I’m just torn.” He choked out.
“Torn?” I whispered. He sobbed into his hands, his chest shaking.
“I did something bad.” He said, his eyes bloodshot.
“What did you do baby?” I said, while patting his back.
“I hooked up with Madison, a while ago.” He said. My eyes widened and my heart heated erratically.
“You, what?” I spat. He cried even harder.
“And when was this?” I said, trying extremely hard to not implode.
“Back when you were pregnant with Noah.” He said.
“You mean over a year ago? Why are you just now telling me?” I asked him. He just shrugged and wiped the tears out of his eyes.
“Where are Jasmine and Noah at?” I asked him.
“Still at my parent’s house.” He whispered somberly. I nodded once before grabbing my bags and heading toward the stairs.
“Oh, and by the way,” I started. He looked up at me, and pulled his lip between his teeth.
“I kissed Michael last night.” I said, before continuing up the stairs.
I choked out another sob as I brought the bottle of whiskey to my lips. She kissed Michael? I wiped the snot out from under my nose with my sweater paw, before topping off the bottle. My entire body shook with sobs. I don’t think I would’ve ever told her if it weren’t for Madison blackmailing my ass. I am so incredibly ashamed of myself.. She will never understand. Maybe she’d understand if she would sit down and listen, and understand that Madison was going to leak pictures of her.. her notebook.. and tell the school board, even though she’s an adult now. I threw away the bottle and padded up stairs quietly to see her sitting on the bed, with her glasses on and a book in her hand.
“Baby?” I whispered. She glanced up at me before biting her lip and stifling a cry, her eyes focusing back on her book.
“Please let me explain?” I said, sitting on the foot of the bed. She took her glasses off and bit the end, setting her book on the night stand.
“Madison was in a class that I was a student teacher for, a few years ago. She always liked me, but I wouldn’t sleep with her, which made her mad. Well, Back right around the time Noah was born, you were at your parents. I went out with the guys and we all ended up here, not just her. She wandered around the house and ended up in my study, and found your notebook. She saw what you wrote, after we slept together.. the polaroids we took that one time, which were shoved in my desk drawer. She took pictures of everything, Al. She blackmailed me.. She threatened to leak everything and tell the board. I’m so sorry.” I sniffled. She sat up and grabbed my hand, before speaking.
“You’re being 100% truthful, right?” She said, I immediately nodded.
“Promise me?” She whispered, tears threatening to leak out of her eyes.
“I made a vow to you when I proposed to you baby, and it was to never lie.” I said. She nodded and leaned forward. I grabbed her face with one hand and pulled her the rest of the way. Her lips were salty from her and my tears combined, her hands shaking as she pushed me on my back. I pulled her on top of me by the back of her bare thighs, her hands resting by my head. She sat up and put her hands on my chest, her lips swollen.
“Can we get a different wedding planner? Please?” She asks. I nod and pull her back down onto me. Her hips ground into mine, her tongue dancing with mine in the most exotic way. She pulled my sweater off and tossed it on the floor, my hands reaching up to take her tee shirt off, but her hands quickly grabbed my wrists and pinned them down.
“No.” She said, before continuing to kiss me. She pulled her shirt off effortlessly, leaving her in just her panties and her slytherin knee socks.
“You’re so sexy baby.” I moaned into her mouth as I reached up to move her hair behind her ear.
“What did I fucking say?” She spat as she slammed my arms back into the mattress. Who is this woman and what has she done with Alaska?
