he looks at her as if he’s just about ready to take a bite right out of her, like one would from an apple ( which is to say: rather unkindly; which is to say: with teeth bared. and although he’s smiling, the light of it does not reach his eyes, left sharp and calculating even when the conversation is so very light and pleasant ).

He seems different - perhaps its the purple of his unsmiling eyes (something she once would assume to be contacts but after her own transformation she isn't quite sure). But she still takes in his smile with H O P E. (Hope that maybe he was like she was? Hope he was kind? She wasn't quite sure.)

"I think so," she tilts her head, examining him like he was a painting in a museum. His gothic attire, his dark aesthetic, it screams authenticity to her. It reminds her of vampires - and perhaps in naivete it makes her question him and his truths. (Even now, she can't find autonomy in herself, despite running away. even in dressing her own being - she is dressing in the fine, stifling clothing her Sire had bought her rather than comforts she wanted. If he is bold enough to share his own fashion statements (as mundane as it was), there has to be more held close to the strange man's beat-beat-beating heart.)
